Native Acrobat Files in new D2G 8 Premium!

Yeah .....I'd say this is going to be huge for them (even though they'll take you for everything your worth as far as upgrades go). Anyway- guess that's the price you pay for a "one stop shop" type program.

I upgraded $29.99 yesterday. Seems ok and the process is just a simple as the normal DTG drag and drop to which location you want the file to go.

It's definitely a plus since nearly all of my company's docs are PDF.....So now I can carry most of them on the card and email them directly via versamail......ooooh goosebumps all over. And on a Moose, goosebumps are huge. ;) :D
 
Hey .....Moose. What's your take on the PDF within D2G? I'm probably gonna go for it too but have RepliGo already. Good enough that I can trash RepliGo. Thing with RepliGo is that (as you said) you can't e-mail PDF files to someone else to read (unless they have RepliGo Desktop).

I decided to upgrade from version 7 Premium to 8 Premium. The upgrade price was $29.99. Dataviz bundled Beik's Dictionary Thesaurus as a free bonus.

I installed the programs and they seem to be stable and simple to use. The Acrobat files are a little slow to open, but it is great to see the graphics. If you use PDF files, this is the easiest reader to use. You can copy and paste the PDF files directly on an SD card using a card reader. Overall, this is a great program.
 
Yeah, the price is a little high. However, Dataviz treats customers right. The support and PR is good. During the past year, Dataviz has offered several free updates. Unlike some other vendors, Dataviz does not charge for minor updates.
 
My wife has a 150-page recipe document in Word (.doc) format on the desktop. I have not been able to move this to Documents to Go since the ingredients are in a two-column format for each recipe, and the program doesn't copy the format as it is in the desktop.
Will the new version allow her to do this? If so, do I have to change the format of the document on the desktop first? If so, how? Thanks.
 
I've used the new version with a native .pdf. It works, but be prepared to wait for each page to load. It's not exactly speedy. At least that's my experience viewing a .pdf with images (the user guide for Edge - the RPG game).

That's even with my TX running WarpSpeed setting the CPU to 416MHz.

So if you plan on trying to view a lot of graphic intensive .pdf's I think the Adobe conversion/viewer approach may be better.

But YMMV.
