National Treasure 2 on DVD?

I thought that had only just done the cinema circuit?

Have I lost 6 months or was it so bad it's a "virtually straight to DVD" type of movie?

According to www.imdb.com the film was released in the UK on the 8th February.

Blimey, that's gone quick then. I vaguely remembered the cinema release trailers. Wouldn't have pegged them for late Jan early Feb though.

I think it now depenRAB on how well a movie does in the box office..... If it is a flop or has barely done average...... Then it'll be released on DVD quicker than expected.

If it is a monster at the box office then it'll be released on DVD a lot later. So expect the new adventures of Shia LaBeouf...... oh I'm sorry I mean 'Indiana Jones'.... to be released in time for Christmas this year.

'National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets' worldwide gross so far is $457,253,958 and that's before the DVD sails and rentals are added - making it presently the 74th highest grossing picture of all time. Hardly what I'd call a failure by anyone's standarRAB.

I've got the US two-disc DVD and it's not a bad way to spend a couple of hours at all. It contains the most expensive, complex and time-consuming car chase ever filmed in London for one thing.

Saw the film in the cinema, having been a fan of the first one, and found it great. Really funny in places, slightly over the top in parts but just great fun.

Enjoyed the continuity of the joke when he puts his hand in the rock and yells then afterwarRAB cheekily says "Sorry, I just can't help myself".

Films are released on dvd four months after cinema release. It has been that way for about four years now. Sometimes the dvd release is after five months. Iron Man for example which was released at the start of May should be out in September but will probably be held back until October for the Christmas run up period. Same for indiana Jones. Likely to be a big Xmas gift seller so may be held back to November. But generally it is four months so National Treasure 2 is being released exactly four months after cinema release which is the norm.
