For those of you who have either played with "checklist" apps or outliners, "thought organizers" or planning software, you know how frustrating it is when they just don't "do enough." I used a freeware application (and I might say pretty darn good for FREE) called "Progect" for a while, but the PC interface never got off the ground, it was simplistic, "interfaced" with other apps I didn't need, and had the monochrome dullness of road kill.
I finally decided to just pay the money and get Bonsai 3. WOW! Checklists, planning, a FANTASTIC PC interface, vivid colors -- and now 3.1.1 adds even more slickness and ICONS. God, I love icons.
the website is www.natara.com and you've GOT TO check it out. Don't get the standalone handheld app only -- get the whole package with PC desktop. Talk about FAST hotsynch speed -- I currently have about 12 outlines, some lengthy, and if I tweak ALL OF THEM, the "hotsynch" window for Bonsai comes and goes in a FLASH. If only one or two are changed, you barely see it show up on the screen.
By all means don't read the manual as a "last resort," but honestly I only read up on a few keyboard PC commands for entering new fields and headings. It is incredibly customizeable and user friendly, edits in a jiffy and NEVER crashes (not even in flash!).
3.1.1 seems to be a little quicker and without any "screen blip" I'm used to seeing on many programs now, especially on the T3. It is seamless, tight, and oh yeah - multiple tiny and regular fonts and colorization, too.
For those who want to be organized beyond a calendar app this particular software will serve SO MANY purposes you'll be using it daily -- I do -- and every now and again I find something I just can not recommend ENOUGH to all of you.
This thing's great.
