Naruto Shippuden Season/Arc 3 Talkback (spoilers)

For those of you not following the show, the filler ended last week. This week marks a return to canon material and boy, what a return. All you Crunchyroll subscribers should check the newest episode out. If you don't have the anime merabership, now's the time to try the free trial and then buy the subscription from there.

And one thing I have to comment on is Kishimoto's annoying tendency to kill interesting characters.

Yeah, I'm a bit weird that way. This is a series where I find many of the villains to be interesting characters - almost more so than the main, "protagonistic" cast.

And at this point, I have to note that I'm a bit....disengaged by Kishimoto's killing of one interesting villain after another. Thus, I'm actually curious as to how he'll kill Kisame.

Well, finaly a two hour special that was worth the wait. Now that was a great fight. You got to love Hidan, once again they succed in bring another creepy Akatsuki to the screen. Assuma's death was well done. I like that Shikamaru has this vauable time in the spot light.

Naruto's wind "spears" were so tiny they shredded Kakuzu on an atomic level. At least, that's what I'm telling myself.

What was with the "happy music" when Kakuzu was getting destroyed anyway? Felt out of place.

Manga spoiler/question
Did they ever show Tobi and Deidara capture Sanbi? The 3 tailed demon? Cause they should be sealing it in the next few eps but I must have missed it if it was in the filler arc.

Killer Bee will take possession of the Samehada and kill Kisame with his own sword.

*Looks around and notices people staring.*
What? Too fan fictiony?

[xspoiler='To MJC'] Care to elaborate? Because unless I got this wrong, chapters 317 and 318 show the capture of the Sanbi, well sort of. We don't see the actual capture process itself but you get the idea. And somewhere around chapter 329 is where they seal the Sanbi. Unless you meant that said creature has yet to show up in the anime.... [/xspoiler]

I do hope you're joking. Don't buy an Anime Merabership for Naruto Shippuden. Buy it for Gintama!

THIS. I watched 23 filler episodes to return to canon that's more than half flasrabroadacks. Add the present time material being drawn out, stock animation, the crappy OP and ED, and references to filler, and you get Naruto Shippuden "canon". Why do they need to do this? The manga is so far ahead. That's it. Screw this anime.

Well, there is such a thing as "direction." Also, considering that all of those previous events happened in the story literally over five years ago with no reruns, some people might appreciate the recap.

The flasrabroadacks were also all redrawn. Some of them traced, but redrawn nonetheless into HD.

Oh you were serious? My bad.

Yeah, flasrabroadacks can be helpful, but we just got out of filler. Give us a break. If people need the flasrabroadacks so much, I'd rather they just have a compilation episode followed by canon episodes with no flasrabroadacks instead of showing a few seconRAB of new canon material and then sending the story back five years. A Gurren Lagann-style compilation episode of course (yeah, right).

Maybe I should've elaborated. What I meant is that we don't see the actual fight. All that's shown is when they first found the Sanbi, and the aftermath of the fight. Although, technically if the anime went in the same order the manga did, the initial encounter should've already happened. I guess they'll either show it in the next few episodes or skip straight to the sealing.

^^This, This, THIS! I cannot stress this enough (Also buy it for Reborn!)

Anyway, I haven't watched Naruto for a good while now so I decided to start cashing in on my merabership and watch the newest episode and I was rather disappointing as apparently, Sasuke can hold that chakra blade for over 10 minutes while flasrabroadacking the whole episode. What I did like however was the syrabolism of the hawk capturing the snake. Good stuff with that. Also, Naruto wasn't even in the episode at all but I blame Kishimoto for that as we're entering the "Year of Sasuke" period anyway.

Next week, things look better though.
