Naruto Shippuden not to air on TV in the States?

I don't have an endless supply of cash to buy ten or fifteen Naruto Shippudden boxsets. I doubt other people do either. So it's quite likely without a TV broadcast I and others will wind up falling out of the series.
 
I've got a Naruto Collector magazine, and it shows a basic summary of every filler arc from 184 to 220. But as for Shippuden, they just say that it'll be out in 2009, but it doesn't say where.
 
I'm sorry, but I just simply prefer english dubs over subs for the following 5 reasons:

1.) I don't understand the Japanese language at all, nor will I ever try to attempt to learn it.

2.) I hate reading subtitles, they're annoying and are in the way. Plus they always distract me, causing me to have to rewind all of the time.

3.) I prefer to listen to shows in my language, which is English.

4.) I am very patient, therefore I can deal with waiting for anime to be slowly dubbed and released in the U.S.

5.) Anime is just a mere hobby to me, so if it were to stop being dubbed, I could easily move on with my life and replace it with a different hobby.
 
No one's going to know about this too. The internet has failed to produce ratings equal to TV, and this is a fact. Even a podcast wouldn't do the trick.

Congratulations CN. You've killed Naruto. I hope you're happy.
 
Actually, I think pretending that executives live in some sort of bubble and are able to take their personal preferences out of the decision making process is silly. They don't. Plenty of people in the industry have publicly stated that network executives have made decisions purely because of personal preferences. For instance, I recently read an interview from someone who worked on The Critic. He said that it got great ratings on Fox, but there was a shift in executives after Fox picked it up from ABC, and the new executives simply hated the show and wanted it cancelled regardless of the ratings that it got. For a more recent example, David E. Kelley has publicly stated that executives at ABC simply didn't like Boston Legal and that's why they cancelled it. Hell, I can give you an example that specifically deals with the subject we're talking about. A Funimation rep specifically said that Cartoon Network took One Piece off the air because they hate anime even though it gives them great ratings.

I suppose you can dismiss this all as sour grapes, but I think you're being completely unrealistic if you believe that executives never take personal preferences into account.
 
But...how do you know that this is actually what's happening? This "they're not doing it because they hate it" excuse is being used way too much in these forums as an easy explanation as to why networks like CN do what they do. And I personally think that's an extreme opinion.

Well I'm sure they do. But if you believe what everyone around here says, everyone at both CN and AS hates anime with a seething passion and gets their kicks by ticking off all anime fans by refusing to give them what they want by scheduling anime at odd hours (or not scheduling it at all).

That an entire network can be against an entire type of animation from an entire country just doesn't make sense. Like I keep saying, if an anime series mysteriously became an insane Johnny Test-type ratings powerhouse tomorrow, the folks at CN would scrarable to give it the best times slots and would look towarRAB finding similar anime shows to strike while the iron's hot.

And MM, isn't it possible that the Funimation rep was the one with sour grapes? Who knows. It makes no sense that CN would remove a successful show because (quote unquote) they hate it.
 
CN is happy, they're literally tap-dancing as Secret Saturdays (which isn't a bad show before people jump over me) gets half the ratings as Naruto did in its prime.
 
Yes I'm sure the ratings for Naruto after certain movies have been very good. But they could be all the more better if they would advertise it was airing after the movies. You know so people without the internet would know when Naruto is going to be airing.
 
I have heard Cullen doing Secret Saturday Previews at least once or twice. I'm sure it was him. I'm pretty sure he does not of the previews though Starwars characters do the clone wars previews.

And you guys would not accept YAH if TOM was hosting it. But I don't want to get into that.
 
I could NEVER see anime as a hobby. Anime and manga are what i live for. And more than that, anime is an art form. Dubbing an anime is the equivilant to taking the Mona Lisa and painting her hair blonde. Like taking David, chisiling off the penis and making him wear tights. Like making Greedo shoot first. It's just wrong and insulting.
 
Actually, since [as] Saturday ratings have been going up, it's safe to assume that Nrauto (when it does air) gets decent ratings.

I haven't heard any Cullen promos since Septeraber. However, this is kind of off topic anyways.
