Naruto Shippuden not to air on TV in the States?

what they SHOULD do is actually advertise when the episodes are airing. the ratings are no doubt horrible now and knowing them they might use that as an excuse not to pick up shippuden

Actually, I enjoy Clone Wars more than Secret Saturdays. Clone Wars can be kind of fun sometimes, I just find it unnecessary. But, Secret Saturdays I just find terrible. Admittedly, I've only seen one episode, but everything I saw was terrible. Horrible artwork, horrible writing, horrible plot. It was just awful. And you know, I was actually looking forward to Secret Saturdays early on. I remeraber when I first saw images of it I thought it looked pretty cool. Did they change the artwork a lot from the earlier images? Because I could have sworn the artwork looked a lot cooler when they previewed it a couple of years ago.

Uhhh...I never understood it when people start bringing in stuff about rights into a discussion of TV. I mean, every single thread ever made on the Cartoon Network board can be answered by "Cartoon Network has the right to make their own programming decisions." And I have a right to complain and hope the network suffers. What's your point?

It depenRAB on if you want Naruto to be popular or not. I mean, if my sole concern was to be able to see it, then I would have already gone the illegal route and watched fansubs. But, I want to see people wearing Naruto shirts and backpacks. I want Naruto to reach Dragonball Z levels of popularity. That will never happen without a TV airing.

Considering they've relegated anime to 1AM-6AM on Sunday mornings (Saturday overnights) come January even ditching that minimal Inuyasha slot on weekdays... I'd say Adult Swim is just about ready to toss anime out completely. I suppose Shippudden COULD change that but there's no reason it couldn't air on CN so obviously it should air on CN.

You're forgetting the fact that Cartoon Network hates anime. I know people are going to say "Cartoon Network doesn't care if a show is anime or not, they air what gets them ratings." The fact is, whether you like it or not, the reality is that networks do make decisions based on personal preferences.

Hmm, ya know what, I just realized something.

The next new episode, episode 205, will be airing on Deceraber 27, 2008.

Then the next new episode after episode 205, episode 206, will be airing on January 3, 2009, which is one week from Deceraber 27, 2008.....is it just me, or is Cartoon Network going to go back to regularly airing 1 new episode each week?

They like what gets ratings and brings them money. If tomorrow anime on CN suddenly skyrocketed in viewers and ratings the network would gladly treat it like royalty and would air it as often as they could. But for whatever reason CN has decided that anime isn't bringing in the ratings and viewers they're looking for and they aren't making it a priority.

The idea that an entire network can hate an entire "genre" (for lack of a better word) of animation and treat it badly out of pure spite is just silly.

Well, I never knew until now what IMO meant. Call me slow all you want, but some things just take awhile to sink in lol.

There are actual people that don't think of going to CN's website to find out about when the next new Naruto is airing? .

I do agree that CN should have on-air advertisements/commercials stating when there will be new Naruto, and I am really perplexed at why CN stopped doing so after Toonami got cancelled.

To me, it's like a favorite show of mine like Jericho or Invasion being canceled. So no, I don't like it one bit. I'll live, but I won't be happy about it.

Because they'd rather use that time to promote their own shows but they do at least promote when Naruto movies will be on but they only do so a few times in the week the movie will air on.

I didn't realize so many people disliked Clone Wars. I've only seen a few episodes, but I'd honestly rather watch that than Naruto. I mean, I'll buy BOTH on DVD eventually, but out of the 2, I'd choose clone wars.
