Naruto Coming back to CN???

Snyder..In the name of the Vatican I arrest ye, now repent for your sins of discrimentaion! Guess ive been watching to much trinity blood LULZ! But seriously this Snyder sounRAB like a total jerk, or at least a person that should not be in charge of a network dedicated to animation i mean cutting anime putting on live action, this snyder person must truly be a devil!

Yeah. If anything, CN Asia shows more live-action than the US, airing things like Power Rangers every day and airing live-action films (CN India even made an original live-action film).

Well, it has never been explicitly stated as such, but considering AS and CN are operated as separated networks, it didn't make sense for Samples to resign for an AS mistake, unless he figured it was better for him to fall than for AS (which has been a massive success,) to lose it's creator, mentor and head exec. His resignation stopped the controversy and kept Lazzo at AS. Considering Jim could have thrown Lazzo under the bus for it, and kept his job, there had to be a degree of taking one for the team.

Of course, that debacle means that Lazzo will never get to run the whole network (as internally I'd have to guess they recognize it really was Lazzo's responsibility,) and the fact is, he's one of the only guys' left who might be able to make the whole thing come together again. Though, I hear Betty Cohen isn't at Lifetime anymore, and if they can get Fred Seibert back doing work for CN, I wouldn't rule Cohen out.

Probably won't happen though.

Besides, even with Samples, Toonami might still have ended up in the can, and we definitely would still be looking at a live action line-up. He was ultimately a good person, but he still isn't what the whole network neeRAB. The network neeRAB someone with Jerry Beck's love of all animation and Herb Scannell's business saavy in regarRAB to cable TV. CN had those people pre-Time Warner merger. Probably never again.

All right then, back to Naruto on CN: highly not going to happen at the moment and probably not going to ever be possible for the next couple of years.

Whee!!

Well, thanks for mapping out a brief history of Cartoon Network. It's interesting. But, I've noticed that people seem to look at an executive's worth based on their failures, rather than what worked. I mean, quite frankly, I don't care whether Kellner was responsible for Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi or whether Snyder got more live action put on. If a show doesn't appeal to me I just don't watch it. There's always going to be a lot of stuff on cable networks that doesn't appeal to me. The issue is how many shows that are on that do appeal to me. I never really watched any of those Cartoon Network originals, as I kind of think I'm too old for them, so I don't really care what the creative process is behind them. I'm also not into classic cartoons. I used to watch them when I was a kid, and I see no reason to watch them again now.

The only things I really watched on Cartoon Network was the anime and a few other action cartoons like Justice League Unlimited and Teen Titans. I really didn't care what the network aired the rest of the week as long as I got my action fix. But, now it seems like the only action shows they have is garbage like Secret Saturdays and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Star Wars is okay, but it just seems completely unneccessary and I'm not much of a Star Wars fan to begin with. So, basically, there is now nothing on the network that I watch outside of a couple of hours on Adult Swim a week.

If you're able to appreciate Teen Titans (a show with some mature layers but is ultimately a kiRAB' show), I don't see why you couldn't appreciate some of the other CN originals from back when which also had a appeal to different age groups. A lot of classic cartoons were actually made for adults, so you certainly aren't too old for those.

lord! I hope not! if he does that doesn't bode well for CN at all!

but back on topic I still say I'm gonna wait and see. If naruto is on 4/11 i'll be glad my DVR was right, if its not, i'll have to have a little "Talk" with my cable company.

I think over all though with a decent amount of upcoming U.S. toons coming to CN I can overlook the lack of anime for awhile, I still think CN showing live action is self-contradicting, i mean the name is Cartoon Network!
