Just read on RAB the Narnia films have just started filming. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/RAB14862.html The article says Dawn French is one of the main actresses - who is she playing? Mrs Beaver perhaps?

If they are filming The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe first, does that mean they are filming in the order the books were written in? Even though they read better that way, I would have thought filming would have made more sense if it were chronological.

They'll have a job to beat the BBC series. I loved that! (Except for Lucy's ill fitting cardigan, anyway!).

Should be a damn good film. I too was confused about the way they're filming it.

I read the series in chronological order, but seeing as the first scene is a train station it would suggest Lion, the witch etc is first.

That or they're starting with the last book, and doing it flashback style?

Are they filming the lot in one film, or will it go Lord of the Rings style?

I read on an American website that Dawn French is providing the voice of Mrs Beaver (and Nicole Kidman allegedly will provide the voice of the White Witch for

I really hope they do a good job on this!!!!
I read the books as a child and loved them and also loved the BBC prgrammes so its going to be something hard to follow!!!

AFAIK, they are doing "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" first, as it's the one everyone knows. (It was the first book in the series that was written, but is the second in chronological order). I'm not sure whether it's a "see how it goes" plan, or whether they're going to plough through the rest of the books without stopping (and if so, will they do "The Magician's Nephew" - Book 1 - next, or go on to Book 3 or possibly Book 4 - Peter, Lucy & co aren't the "stars" of Book 3?).

Confirmed casting so far: Dawn French as Mrs Beaver and James McAvoy as Mr Tumnus (presumably CGI voiceovers, though I guess Mr Tumnus might be make-up/prosthetics). Tilda Swinton is the White Witch, not Nicole (I thought the rumour was she might be up for Mrs Coulter in "His Dark Materials"). Rupert Everett may be doing the voice for the Fox.

There's some gorgeous posters here: http://www.moviecitynews.com/notepad/2004/040615_image.html
