Names of authors and books written by east african people?

I want to read a book by east african people (ethopia, somalia etc) I dont mind it to be fictional, autobio etc but it has to have east african people for authors or a story about east africa people..It is for a project of mine but im stuck!

In the end of the day, fine leave ur religion thats ur own personal fault but dont turn around and trash it esp since her whole family is somali and muslim, she has got a lot to answer for in judgement day, i agree with u
 
Try not yet uhuru by oginga odinga, anybook by ngugi wa thiongo, a book called siku njema i think they have the english translation its a good book or wangari maathai autobiography or kiu it should also have an english translation. Am kenyan so i only know of kenyan authors.

**edit** I know! The woman is basically trying to capitalize on her "hard" upbringing as a Muslim woman growing up in Somalia. When the fact is she actually had a pretty decent life until the civil war and now has completely turned her back on her country and religion, to cash in on a couple bucks. There's a special place in hell for people like her.
