This is a long shot. In about 1979 I saw a movie and I have been racking my brains (and Google) for years to find out what it is. However, the *only* thing I remember about it is that the last line is spoken by probably a policeman to a woman, and he says: "Mrs [insert name] your husband is not, never has been and never will be a vampire."

Anyone???:(

Did you see it at the cinema or on TV.

Salems Lot was made in 1979 but was a TV movie.

I only mention it because it was such a memorable movie and thought I'd throw it out there. I'm not sure how that last line would fit in, though, so I'm probably wrong.

Martin
Grave Of The Vampire
Midnight
Thirst
Count Yorga Vampire
Return Of Count Yorga
Vampira (aka Old Dracula)

that's about all the 70s vampire films I know apart from the Hammer ones, which it doesn't sound like any of.

Yes, I remember that too. Quite creepy. Also, I'm sure when I watched it the first time around it was a mini-series, but every time I've seen it since it's been of shorter length.

It was a mini series when it was first shown. One of those that everybody watched and talked about and looked forward to the next part.

And the vampire child at the window is still one of the creepiest bits of film ever.
