I presume to post this here. I saw on TV earlier this afternoon (ive been off work with a cold) people were discussing what are the worst movies you've seen and I suddenly got a flashback to this movie I saw as a child, around about 9 or 10 years old or so, maybe 11 but I wasn't a teenager I think... anywhhooo it was really depressing and I didn't realise until I saw it. It was an animated movie but it didn't have CGI (it was made before that time really), I think it was from the 1980s possibly and the movie was called something like Ben's Bunker or something? I looked it up on IMDB but thats not the right name I think as nothing matching it was found but maybe it'll jog some memories(?).
I'm sure the name of the movie had something to do with anderson shelters or a bomb shelter, so something bunker or shelter or something like that, as the movie was about a couple who have to suddenly rush to this bunker/shelter when they realise their under nuclear attack and the film is really bleak, most of it is them trying to figure out if its safe to go outside and then it had a really depressing ending - good stuff for a kid to watch, huh?! It sticks in my mind because I remember I'd watched it on a Saturday afternoon and honestly, as soon as it was over, I had to remind myself that it was the weekend and I cheered up and felt so much happier LOL the movie had seriously depressed me - it was way too serious for my age at the time! wish I'd never been given it, dunno what my parents were thinking...
Anyone got the faintest idea what the movie was called? for some reason I just kinda feel like, I'd like to know what its called. I think the animation was quite 'old school', so its possible it might be older say from the 70s or something, I guess it would make sense that it'd be made when there was all the paranoia about the cold war happening etc.... I think the front cover made it look like quite an indie type movie, so I don't know if anyone will know what im referring to but boy, was it depressing lol...
[/vent] lol!
