Name of Author of Chines Murder cases based on Judge Dee?

This will I think be for the older reads, about 40 years ago I read a number of Murder mystery's about a Chines Judge, he was called Judge Dee, two of the books that I can remember are
The Chinese Bell Murders and the Emperors Pearl, the stories where based in China about 14 or 15 Century'.
