I'm pretty sure i know the book you're talking about! It has a large dragonfly on the front? I've picked it up several times at borders because of it's beautiful front cover. Not sure of the title, but i think 'fairy' is included in there somewhere. Maybe look through the borders website?
Sorry i can't be of more help. I'll try to find it now.

This is probably a huge long-shot, but I'm looking for a book I used to have when I was little, I'm not sure when exactly. It was pretty huge, at least to me. It was square shaped, not a rectangle, really. Like the title says, it was very thick, it had many stories in it, it had a hardcover that was blue, no dust-jacket. If memory serves me right, it had gold edges on the pages. And the book itself had beautiful, colorful illustrations, but the stories didn't seem to be the more well-known ones, at least not that I can remember. I do remember that one of the stories has a king with multiple daughters, but beyond that, I'm lost. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

The story I think you are talking about is the blue fairy book, belongs to a collection i think it is by Andrew Lang who also wrote the red fairy book, the green fairy book, etc... The old originals are collectors items. Belongs to a set of twelve. I read them at my school library about 4 or 3 years ago.
