Name a film which has changed your mind about the actor

Leonardo Dicaprio - realised hes a really good actor when i watched "The Departed"

Mat Damon - Suits the role perfectly in "Bourne Identity"

Seeing both those films completely changed my mind on those two actors.

Also, after watching "Troy" i didnt like Orlando Bloom that much, because his character was so womanly lol, and ended up killing the great Achillies, thats just not right :p

Heath ledger

The Dark KNight

i know its not out yet but I've seen 100's of clips with the joker in and Heath Ledger seems to get the joker to a tee I still won't really watch him in anything else but He's not so unbearable now.

Heath Ledger - Brokeback Mountain, I never suspected he could be such a good actor after seeing him in some pretty poor movies before that Ned Kelly, First Knight.

Jim Carey - Truman Show - before that he had been in silly OTT comedies, and since TS has been in quite a few good movies, Man in the moon, endless sunshine....

Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Great film; a surprisingly undiminutive performance by Mr. Cruise (apart from the beach volleyball sequence when he does look ever so small).

Leonardo DiCaprio after watching "What's Eating Gilbert Grape".

Mind you, it was a long long time before he did anything that came close to matching his performance on that movie.

Mallrats.

It was weird seeing 'Earl' without his moustache, or such a rugged voice.

Also, although i like Jim Carey - i'll never forgive him, for effectively putting an end to the potential 'A Series Of Unfortunate Events' series, with his "i can't do sequels, unless animals are involved" policy.

I totally agree, he started with such promise in WEGG and This boys Life and IMO took a nosedive after that in the likes of Titanic, The Beach etc

Hmmmm.... I kind of agree. But Leonardo in "The Quick and the Dead" is pretty good. "Romeo + Juliet" is good too.

Matt Damon in "Good Will Hunting" is brilliant.

Rachel plays the same character in everything she does, until she actually does something different than I'll keep my opinion of her being average.

:D :D :D

I agree with the others who have mentioned Leonardo DiCaprio's performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape - I was really impressed with him in that movie. I watched this film after seeing him in Titanic and in Romeo & Juliet.

Leonardo de Caprio is definitely a very good actor - he was brilliant in This Boy's Life but since then he's appeared in films I'm just not intrested in seeing, most notably Titanic.

For me it's LinRABay Lohan. I'd read more about her party girl lifestyle than any acting ability - she was actually quite good in The Parent Trap & Mean Girls.:D

I forgot to mention Tom Cruise - I'd never liked him or any film he'd been in - then I saw him in 'War of the WorlRAB', which was a great film, and it surprised me as to how good he was: playing the part of an ordinary working man trying to deal with something extraordinary - he was totally believable.
