I'm not sure if this the best place for this thread, but I wanted to get some feedback regarding an experience I had recently. This past memorial day weekend, I visited my Aunt's house. She took me and my cousin on a hike through the woods and swimming in a creek. When we got home, my cousin found a tick behind her knee so my Aunt took her into the bathroom to check her for ticks. Afterward, she told me to come into the bathroom. She found two ticks under the waistband of my shorts and then told me to take my swim trunks off. I told her that I had no underwear on underneath, but she said that she would have to inspect everything anyway. My heart sank into my stomach as I got naked in front of her. I have alot of hair down there, and she took her time and checked that area very carefully. At times she held my penis and to my embarassment it started to become erect in her hand. The fact that her face was only inches from my erection made it even more humiliating. She still had on her bikini during the tick-check, which makes me wonder if she wanted me to get aroused by the experience. I'm really confused about this and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience in their life? I'm 18 years old. Was what she did inappropriate or what?

Yes, she stepped over the line. Both you and your cousin are capable of inspecting your own genitals. Your feelings are valid.

We expect that the people in authority will have our best interests at heart. It can make us feel confused and betrayed when they violate our trust. I am sorry you and your cousin had to experience this.

Are there any other adults you can talk with about this? Can you refuse to visit her again? Can you practice saying "no!" so that if the situation happens again, you are mentally prepared to say "no!"?

There isn't any adult I know that I feel comfortable talking to about this. On the one hand I understand why my Aunt did what she did ...cause she cares for me and doesn't want me to get a tick-born disease. on the other hand...I think she should have stopped when she realized I was aroused. not only did she not stop, she actually held my erect penis in her hand. and why would she not have put some clothes over her bikini before putting me in that situation? she was almost as naked as I was..and you would think that she would know what kind of affect that would have on a young man. I did ask my cousin if she had to get naked too, and she said that she did and that her mom did naked tick checks on her before and that she didn't think it was unusual at all. i dont know...im ashamed about this....i love my aunt and ive been close to her my whole life...but this has definitely changed my outlook.....
 
I'm going to take another point of view here. Ok...it probably wasn't "appropriate", but why can't you just try to accept it for what it was? If this is something that hasn't happened before and doesn't continue to happen, just accept it as your aunt going what she felt was right, for your health. I realize you are a bit embarrassed, but don't be. We can't control our physiology....and there will likely be many times when you get aroused and can't control it.

Again, if this isn't something that continues, try not to make that big of a deal out of it. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. If it continues, then cross that bridge.
 
i agree, it was probably just a more innocent type of situation, but given the age you are, and me having my own older sons and a nephew, i can tell you without a doubt i personally would never have crossed THAT particular line with any of them(i myself, just could NOT have gone "there' at all). at the point where things needed to be checked under THAT particular area, she should have told you what to look for, and handed you a hand mirror(for those harder to see areas?) along with maybe a fine toothed comb,and allowed you to do THAT part yourself.

maybe she still thinks of you in that same old little boy way?? you just really don't know what the deal was. so just blow it off and tell her if she decides to do this again,that YOU have that one covered yourself. she may not have had a clue as to what she was causing you. some people are just really clueless at times ya know? FB
