ditto on that tetnaus shot there. it IS crucial if esp you cannot even recal when you even had your last booter for the level/type of deep punture wound you just have there? i would actually visit the ER or if you have a really really thorough primary, then go there? but you really DO need to have this particular type of wound actually completely totally cleaned from the inside out and decontaminated/flushed really well with certain types of antiseptics/disinfectants and anti Bs in some cases too just becasue the type of wound you actually have just IS the most common type to create a deep level of infection to have to deal with too? you simply do not actually know what 'else' may have been ON that nail when it went into the bottom of your foot or what contaminants could also have also been simply sitting ON your foot when that nail pushed that skin into the wound it was making that would be sitting way up into the upper end of that wound level right now if not well flushed or that wound simply did not actually even bleed alot either? bleeding really helps to clear out some of the icky crap from wounds too.
but i would definitely at least see your doc for the booster shot and a very thorough cleaning/flushing out of that wound too. you may also need some possible preventitive types of anti Bs to start too, simply to make certain that very specific types of more common infections that can develop with deep puncture wounds would not be an issue either. but DO see your doc at the very least at this point. this just IS one of those better safe than sorry types of situations? good luck with this and i do hope all heals well. just make certain that you do all the right things now so you will not have to deal with possible consequences later.
