I knew it from the beginning. The day N95 is officially released the N99 comes along - 8 mpx 3ccd camera, 16:9 display, 3.2 inch display and qwerty. great. i knew it would be good to skip the n95

Actually, according to some recent patent filings from Nokia, it may not be as fake as you think. Check the story on Gizmodo today:

Now, the specs are all speculative (pun intended), but they are doing SOMETHING with a slide out keypad, or at least they've filed a patent for it.

do u guys think tat nokia shud be jumping to a 8mp cam? i need to confirm tat the n95's pics can get better in future firmwares...otherwise its just pointless...
and i think i heard a SE phone wit 5mp cam? k850 i think...
i dont think a megapixel war is the right way to go...
 
it's not fake, i don't post fake news. look at the patent pictures and then draw conclusions. about that drawing, anyone who can read will see it is not real coz it sez it's not real. duuh
 
the patent isn't fake, but the exact pictures of the phone obviously aren't of an actual device

1. there's no s60 button cluster
2. there's no softkeys.
 
I agree, although I think if Nokia were going to branch out into touchscreen S60, then they might do soft buttons for some things.

But in the end, this is all just speculation based on some very unclear patent drawings and an ugly rendering... all this "8 megapixel" talk is just garbage at this point.

I'll believe it when I see it but what a clever way to incorporate a number pad into the qwerty. From the looks of it, if they plan on making the screen larger than the N95 then this badboy is going to be as long as a 9500.
 
i am hoping something like this comes to light. i can't wait for a slide out qwerty keyboard on s60. and widescreen, that'd do me in as my next phone.

(on a side note, why is qwerty so awkward to type?!?! )
 
because we are all used to T9 unless we have used a qwerty phone for an extended period of time.

I'm tired of speculating on phones unless I see an actual picture. And, all of that slide out, swing out, reversible keyboard/screen/keypad/etc blah blah blah makes me think it would just be more likely to break. the The best phone design is still a candybar IMO -
 
lol its ugly. however the keyboard thingy is quite good. shame they could have improvised on the N95 keyboard feature when its in landscape mode!!!
