N95 + Silicone = Happiness

Pheonix SZ

I'm probably going to give the rubber a go as well.

My n95 unit has that annoying slider wobble.

Does the rubber sleeve fix this problem?

Does the rubber attract dirt/dust?

I also find the N95 slippery. It feels like it just wants to fall out of your hand. The rubber may give the unit a more tactile feel.

FYI: They have this case at MBK right now. It's the only case the vendors have for the N95 right now. There is another hard case but I wouldn't recommend it. I paid 150 thb for my silicone case today.

here's the film i was talking about in my last post. it's called InvisibleShield and they have it available for the n95 already.

like i mentioned, a friend has it on his psp and i remember when he showed it to me, he pulled out his pocket knife and showed me how the shield could stand up to it...i mean he didn't stab it with a lot of force or anything lol, but it would definitely withstand normal daily abuse. i think i'm going to order one, i'll report back when i get it.

If all the parts are functional then it's sure to offer you protection when your taking this puppy into some rough times but it's going to make it to cumbersome imo. The N95 is a beautiful, sleek phone that is at the point of perfect thickness. Anymore and I think it's going to start feeling too bulky. If I planned on keeping mine I would probably invest in one just to check it out. Also, I would look at the black ones as they look much better.

how secure is it on the phone?

i bought one of those hard shells for mine (from Pacific mall for u toronto locals) it's nice enough, but it's not the most secure thing. i don't mind it though, as long as it protects the phone, and it even covers the screen.

^so this is also a silicone type skin right? is it much thinner than the other silicone cases in this thread? please update with pix when you have the time.

Those clear cases are wrong in so many ways..

Nothing like a good leather case to protect it when you don't need it.
And take it out to make calls showing the phone's beautifull design.

but those clear cases are ugly uglly ugly.

Some of us actually want convenience in our phones.
If I can't pull it out of my pocket and start dialling with one hand, it ain't happening.
Gimme a candybar that needs no case (think 6680 here) and I'm a happy bunny.
In the case of the N95, I'm prepared to live with the slide form-factor because with a screen that big, candybar's clearly impractical.
What I'm REALLY not into is a PITA ritual of getting it off your belt, undoing some clasp or flip and only then pushing the slide.
A phone to me is ... a phone - not a fashion accessory.

Indeed, the LESS like a fashion accessory my phone, the less like a 14 year-old girl I'm likely to feel.

To my mind, the 95 has sacrificed too much functionality to fashion already (think the D-pad cluster here) - and that makes me an angry bunny.

I know that they do protect the phone and I know this is a subjective matter, put in my eyes it's just plain ugly lol, in some of those shots it doesn't even look like N95, totally unregonizable

I was wondering about the InvisibleSHIELD as well. Did you get just the screen protector or the full body protection (11 pieces!!)?

Please let us know how it goes - I'm wondering if it's any more noticeable than the Martin Fields screen protectors I usually get! Also I'm wondering how well the full body protector applies to the phone - if there are any folds or wrinkles or if it's a perfect glove fit

(They claim the front is covered by only 1 piece... which I'm a little puzzled by because I don't know how that would form-fit to the buttons and the "dip" of the screen)

Thanks!

Those folks who have the Silicone cases. do you know why the camera doesn't focus when these cases on? I've got two of these cases are they are quite common in Bangkok now but they won't last as the track on the underside easily separates from the rubber. I've got one that's already separated. But I noticed today that when the silicone case is on my phone the camera will not focus.

i got a silcon case on my phone and i love it, looks better on the phone, i fool my fiancee last she thought i had new cover but it was just protection for the phone

Thanks for the pics Techie

Still think rubber would be more protective than the plastic case.

A tighter fit as well!

Looks like the phone would rattle around in that plastic case...

I'm keen to see some rubber pics

Phoneix???

I'm hoping the rubber case will fix my wobbly slider
