N95 or E90: That is the Question, or "The Monkey in the Middle Dilemma"

2GB is big enough. I have a 10MP camera and it takes 190 photos on a 1GB SD Card.

So say you use 1GB for photos and the other 1GB for mp3's

190 photos = 1GB
250mp3 = 1GB (at 4MB per song)

Why would you want more than 250 mp3's on your phone? 100 songs is about 6 hours. Your phones battery wont last long enough to listen to half of it.

So in my opinion 2GB is more than enough.

Thanks unFuccwittable, for explaining fp definition. I actually know about feature pacs. Just all the abbreviations make me forgetful sometimes. I.m probably older than most of the people on this forum so my learning curve is a little bigger. Age thing. i do appreciate everyones help from time to time tho. Waitin on the E90.. Yeah Baby!!

Just read on another forum that the N95 will not work with mail for exchange 1.3.....that's a bummer. Man now I have to rethink if I'm going to get the N95 or not since mail for exchange is important to me.

SDHC is just pretty much a standard for SD cards of any flavor (regular, mini, and micro) that have capacities larger than 2GB. Practically, the only difference between SD cards 2Gb and smaller and those that are bigger is the file system used to format them. SD cards 2Gb and lower are formatted using FAT16 file system. The problem is that FAT16 file format has limitation of maximum volume size of 2GB. In order to have an SD card with capacity larger than 2GB you need to format it with FAT32 file system. The problem with that is that the current S60 devices do not talk FAT32 file system, only FAT16 - that's why they are not able to deal with cards bigger than 2GB. Theoretically the capability to address the FAT32 file system should be just a software issue and Nokia should be able to "write it" into firmware but then again I do not know about the Symbian architecture so I'm not 100% on that - might be the Symbian OS limitation in which case firmware is not going to be able to add this capability. 4GB microSD cards have already been announced by at least two major manufcturers and they already doing testing - their availibility is literrally 1 or 2 months away. J and R store in NYC is already taking preorders and I have put my e-mail on the "notify when available" list available on their site. They are almost upon us. The question is if Nokia can and will move to add the compatibilty to their existing and upcoming phones.
And again the only real difference between SD and SDHC cards, whether they are regular, mini, or micro, is the file system used to format them cards bigger than 2GB require FAT32 since FAT16 used up to that point has a 2GB single volume limitation. By the way, FAT32 format allows for volumes up to 32GB in size.
Sorry for the little detour but there seems to be a lot of confusion around about SD and SDHC so I though I would try to clarify a bit.

I liked not having to archive often on my W810's 2GB card.

You're forgetting the fact that 2GB will be for MP3s, Apps, Maps (for GPS), pictures and videos!

I don't know, I like having the buffer space incase I need it.

If people are willing to carry around spare batteries, why wouldn't people want to carry around a spare memory card? I'm more concerned about battery since I think carrying a spare mem is easier.

This caught my eye:

SE is coming out with a successor to the M600 that might fit this requirement! Google for more information. I think its called 'Elena'.

I am too, waiting for the E90; I am hoping that after the price comes down to Earth, I will buy one and finally be able to leave my laptop home when traveling.

Now with the N80 and the E61, I leave my laptop in the car or at the hotel, but I still have the fear that something won't work and I'll need to run to it. Reading more on the E90, it seems that it will solve some of my fears.

I'm hoping more people test out the business features of the device rather than concentrating on its large screen; the few reviews I have read all seem to comment on the hardware alone -- maybe the software is not finalized for it?

I wish there was a release date for the E90; would help me plan better.

Quite true, a MicroSD could fit in your wallet too! I'd rather not though, spending that kinda dime on a phone, you shouldn't have to do anything 'extra'

I read on another forum thread that Carphone Warehouse in the UK are planning to start selling on April 30th. Another poster in the thread said that in Sweden it's going to be late May. So, it looks likely it's going to be around Apri/May time. Which is not too long to wait...

There's a thread at My Symbian specifically devoted to this. Worth checking out:

You want to spend a grand on this phone but you think about $40 to spend on a 4gig card? You will be limiting the capabilities with multiple small cards also you waste time in switching the cards.
