N95 MPT connection problem

Got me my N95 finally (yay), but I'm having one massive put-off issue being a music addict: Connecting as a MTP device just doesn't work. Looks like the installation ends up in a loop somehow, constantly reloading and terminating the windows wudfhost.exe

Got XP, wmp11 and the latest firmware + pc-suite installed, still no joy
 
mine worked on the first try, i am currently syncing my yahoo music to it right now. maybe go in device manager and delete it and then try plugging it in again. i am on windows media 11 and xp pro.
 
Yeah I would, but the MTP device never registers there. I end up having to disconnect USB to kill the loop :/

I don't know enough about wudf to be able to diagnose, but it sure looks like the problem lies there, or perhaps with Nokias wudf implementation... could be localisation causing the issue, who knows. Anyways, I'm gonna call the "care"center tomorrow. If they fix it i'll be playing the lottery on saturday.
 
lol, good luck with that. have you by chance tried a different port on your computer so it tries to install the drivers again? there might be an update to windows media via windows update. don't know for sure but that is a chance. I just plugged mine in and it did its found new hardware thing and popped up in windows media player.
 
Thank you man, I started thinking along your lines and tried to upgrade the chipset drivers on my laptop, and voila - case closed
