how do i delete email accounts i set up on nokia n95? i set up two yahoo accounts before i realized they won't allow me to check email that way (you have to download their little Yahoo GO! 3.0 widget).

How do i delete them from my "Messaging Center"? I have tried all the basics (press "C" button, go into options and look for delete, go into app manager). It looks like once you set up an email on that phone it's stuck there forever?

thanks. It's actually messaging -> options -> settings -> email -> mailboxes.

don't be so lazy in your directions =) I wasn't lazy trying to figure it out, i just wasn't smart enough =)

thanks for the help. There are two ways to get your yahoo mail. just type "m.yahoo.com/mail" in your web browser OR download the yahoo go 3.0 beta widget from the website. then you get a widget in your applications folder that runs on flash and includes weather and sports and other stuff.

Just annoying i can't check my yahoo from my messaging center on the n95. I think it's same with gmail but again there is an app.

I do it all the time on my phone. If you have the set up wizard on you phone you can try that, or set up your mailbox manually. It was easy and I access my att/yahoo mail all the time from the messaging center. I also put the mailbox as one of my home screen icons.

If you have to do it manually go to messaging>options>settings>e-mail>mailboxes>options and add a new mailbox. You will need to get the pop and smtp settings from yahoo. It works like a charm.

Sorry I was working and didnt have alot of time after I opened up the post. Happy you figured it out.

I am using the pop.mail.yahoo.com settings did you try that? and then to send I think its smpt.mail.yahoo.com

Hey guys. Thanks for the responses. Are you sure you can place Yahoo mail in the messaging center if you aren't paying for yahoo mail plus? I see the forwarding options and all if you PAY for yahoo mail but not in the free services. If you guys could give me a detailed step by step i would very much appreciate it. then i could delete the stupid, slow yahoo go widget. thanks.

Yes you can do it for the free Yahoo. When configuring, make sure you select IMAP instead of POP and your incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com and your outgoing server is smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

I got one im trying to remove too.. I installed emoze in an attempt to get imap push working, that app BTW sucked and would do nothing. -- I removed the program and all traces are gone except for the emoze icon under messaging > just under my folders. There is not mailbox linked to it and when i click on it - it opens and says "no email messages". How the F do I remove it?

BTW used SEVEN and imap4 direct push is working GREAT!

Where is this option? I don't see it at yahoo.com. When i click in options and go to the Forwarding tab, it says i have to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus to change any of these features.

Are you changing these settings from the mail setup on the nokia n95? I'll get this to work if you say it's possible Going to try again...

Got it to work from my phone. BRILLIANT! Thanks guys.

Now will the settings be the same if i want to set up gmail and hotmail, just inserting their name where yahoo was? Or each has a different inbox/outbox setting? Plus, i'm wondering how to set up my outlook at work but i probably have to go to my IT guys right?

And the whole "problem" with the n95 as opposed to any of the blackberries is that it doesn't "push" emails right? So you have to always check to see if you have a new one, instead of it buzzing you that you do.

Maybe there's free software out there that does that? Or maybe that's what my coworkers pay $30 a month to have on their Pearls? Interesting...

You can set the yahoo to push since its IMAP. Its in the settings somewhere. Hotmail will not work unless you pay for the plus. And Gmail works, but its pop and the soonest it can check is every 30 minutes.

for Gmail i put the incoming mail server to "pop.gmail.com" and the outgoing mail server to "smtp.gmail.com". It just keeps the "thinking bar" at the bottom and says it is searching for gmail. Other times when i put in wrong settings it would say cannot find mailbox after like 5 seconds. So i feel like i'm close to the outgoing and incoming settings .

Any help?

I'm going to go download SEVEN now.

Is your Gmail set up for forwarding?? Thru Gmail's website? Also, I think you have to use SSL for Gmail, which would mean you have to use 995 for incoming port and 465 for outgoing port.

Your servers are correct. There is an option for SSL that you have to select yes, I think. Not totally sure as to the configuration of Gmail. Its on Gmail's website though.

Here ya go...

Got it to work. Finally found the webpage where Google goes step by step. So helpful .

Here it is

Before i picked POP instead of imap4 and then i needed to tweak all the other settings a bit. but it works now .

Now if only hotmail was as helpful.....i have a feeling they block it so you can't see your email on your phone unless you download some widget or pay.

Yes, its pay only, unless you go thru the built in browser and go to hotmail's site. Or you can download Windows's live messenger and you can have it in your messaging center then, but you have to manually sync your email everytime to check it. Which is still better than going thru Hotmail's website.

I sooooo want to get rid of my hotmail account but i use it as my junk email and it's perfect. Keep's my yahoo and gmail pretty much 100% clean. Hopefully soon i will just chuck it and have only the two.
