N95 D-pad ... usable, at last !

I agree that the N80 cluster configuration was good - but slightly marred by the lack of an independent Select button.
The other thing that grated a bit was the all-blue button lighting - not very helpful.
But I liked the N80 externals - solid, quality feel and better camera shutter than the 95.
I'd like N95 internals with N80 externals plus Sammy D900 D-pad.
Now THAT would be peachy.
 
Phoenix - I know from this thread, and another a few weeks back in which you critiqued several Nokia D-pads, that you OWN this topic. You're the world's (well, HoFo's) leading authority.

Have you tried the E65? If the D-pad and button cluster pass the Phoenix test, I'm ready to buy.

Tell you what, 95% - I haven't actually tried the 65 ... but since your post was so funny, I'm gunna go and try it at my local Nokia store - yip, just for you.
Will report back Tuesday, Wednesday latest - Monday's a public holiday here.
Can't say much from the pickies I've seen, but I do like the look of the phone generally.
Indeed, I even considered trying one out - JUST for the handling.

Actually, the past 6-7 Nokia's, N75 aside, have hit the market pretty much exactly where Nokia said it would in the Press Release.

I've got something cool in the works regarding this
