N95

? GPS can take 20 minutes to upload
? When using GPS reception can be lost temporarily
? When setting up GPS it will ask customer to choose access point they need to select contract internet.
? GPS is slow compared to Tom Tom.
? When setting up GPS you have to purchase the license and you can select to do this from the phone and pay via premium sms or credit card.
? The navigation system is supported by Nokia not Vodafone.
? When browsing on the phone can display memory full and this is normally when music player is in the background but can often be when nothing else is running to correct this customer needs to do a reset on the phone.? Barcode scanner doesn?t work
? Can occasionally say can no longer connect to WAP or packet data failed and wont let them do anything else to correct this customer needs to reset phone.
? If customer wants to use nuc code if they enter a non Vodafone sim it will ask for code and screen will go white customer needs to enter code without sim.
? If new music is downloaded from Vodafone live it wont automatically show they will need to go to media player and refresh music library
? Customer will not be allowed to make calls when connected via hsdpa. There is no icon on the screen to show that the customer is connected to this, issue should be resolved completely after July.to disable HSDPA customer needs to go to connection packet data high speed packet data and disable.
? There is an issue with stability on this phone and may crash few times a week this is is normal if doing it few times a day may be faulty phone. Phone has a lot of applications in such a compact device that crashing is inevitable.
? Hard wear design fault the stereo headset jack connector makes a hissing noise in your ear when music turned up? Battery life is poor and will drain more when applications used such as GPS wi-fi streaming and radio dj. Eg when using radio dj on fully charged battery it will last 45mins.
? Camera not fully optimised the colour balance should be better.
? If customer is planning on travelling and using the maps it will be cheaper for them to go on to the internet on there home pc to smart2go.com and on maploader downloading them to the pc then put them on there memory card. If downloaded via phone can work out expensive eg whole of uk is 90mb.
? Some issues should be improved with the software update due end of month.

the ones i've bolded are interesting.....

been playing around with a few now....

does anybody here the hiss while in call? it's quite horrible

earpiece is loud and clear but there's a background hiss, static noise they is quite yucky

yeah i get the hiss, and is it just mine or is th battery only lasting a day??
also when marking items in the gallery is there no way to mark multiple items at once or do u have to go to each item and click mark becuase it's paining me already

Guys..if you run Mail4Exchange 1.3.0 it may cause a memory full bug...that is, if sync is set to always! I was getting problems with IM+ running out of memory..close apps...and nothing would be open. I set exchange to manual, and all was good....I use exchange just for contacts since email wont work on Nseries...1.5.0 won't install on N95.

I can't say I've noticed any hissing when making calls, in my experience so far it actually very clear. I have had to have the battery replaced already, I was getting 4 hours max, and that was with no running applications, no calls, nothing. I took it off charge just before going to bed at midnight, wifi off, bluetooth off, it woke me up at 4:15am with a low battery warning. Orange replaced the battery so no real problem, seems better now.

Things that I have noticed though:
When viewing the gallery it repeatedly thinks its empty, even when its not.
Colour balance is definately off, everything looks blue.
Some settings seem to get lost repeatedly, specifically application level settings.
GPS takes ages to locate you, it took upwards of 15 minutes earlier.
Battery life on GPS is non existent, I would estimate an hour, tops.
Its not made clear to you in either the phone or the documentation that when you are using GPS, you are streaming the maps from your network, the only clue you get is the connection symbol flashing repeatedly.
WLAN doesn't work reliably with hidden SSID networks.

Overall though, call clarity is excellent, excellent speaker, excellent screen and mine is very stable.

the background noise you speak of that's on everyphone.. amplify it by like 5x..

just a hiss static noise... like noise cancellation on a bt headset.

or record a video, the playback has the same hiss... if you haven't noticed it you probably don't have it on your device...

are those bugs going ot be fixed with updates? i dont want my dream phone to have THIS many bugs. i was hoping ot turn on gps for a whole day and walk around downtown just for the fun of it. BUT ONE HOUR?!?!?!?! THATS too low.

DId anyone try the TV out cable? On my plazma the phone will not sync up, I see teh picture but it rolls, then I tried it on the video in of my kids Spongebob tv and my pictures came out black and white. Anyone else with same problems?

Is this bug report from Vodafone's locked and branded N95 or the production, unlocked N95? The forum in the link didn't shed any light on this either.

Some things I've noticed include not being able to shut down 3rd party apps by pressing the menu key and then the 'c' key. Also symella (v1.4) seems to become unresponsive after 3 minutes of use. I'm sure that is just a compatibility issue or something, which I hope is fixed....but the shutting down apps problem is still annoying. The only ones I have installed are symella, IM+ and blackballer or something like that...but it occurs for all of them.

These are all apps that I had for my n80 and worked without any issues.

Other than that, the phone works flawlessly for me.

i have an unbranded unit and i am finding that if i even breath on the camera button (side button for actually taking pics) the screen light comes on. this means that if i leave it in my pocket the light will keep coming on. anyone else with this problem?
