Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't anyone care that the N95 is crippled when it comes to no 3g in the US!! I for one was very looking foward for this phone but after realizing that This is a WCDMA/UMTS 2100MHz phone for European/non-US 3G networks. I currently have a treo 750 and love the fact that I have access to UMTS and it makes browsing so much faster then just regular EDGE. The worst part of all is that Nokia sells the n95 in the US and doesnt bother to make its 3g functionalitys work here in the US. I dont see how this phone can be worth that much when out of the box its crippled in the US.

I've used 3G and yes it is really fast. For web browsing the lower latency really helps if change pages a lot. The real big thing with 3G is more in the streaming video or audio realm. You can just tune into video broadcasts so fast. Despite all that, I'll still take an N95 with just EDGE instead of any of the US 3G phones out there and I'll wait for a US 3G N97.

What are you doing out of the Blackberry forum?

In any case, web browsing over WLAN is about as fast as browsing on EDGE with the N95. I'm more than satisfied without 3G and if you search, you'll find plenty of threads discussing Nokia and the battle with Qualcomm and various other reasons the US doesn't see 3G handsets.

With all the rest of the N95's features with nothing else on the market coming too close, I'm pretty satisfied.

Handset browsing speeds are just fine with wifi or edge. The only advantage to have 3G is for tethering or downloading large files (which I don't). I can't really tell the difference in browsing speeds between the N95 and my TyTN, as the Nokia web browser is superfast.

By the way, there are many threads that deal with this subject.

Ricky, why do you torture me like this. Even though I bought two N95s, one for the gf and one for me, I would still buy a US 3G version b/c it would then be the ultimate device. I can only hope this is true.

Even if they brought out a US 3G N95, i think the main thing that they would have to chnage si the battery. 3G sucks the battery faster then Monica L.

I have read most of the threads that have to do with the nokia n95 and nobody really talks about 3G not working in the states I guess since the people that claim the EDGE speeds are fine havent really tried 3G. Now dont get me wrong.. sure Edge is decent to browse but to pay that much for a phone that you cant use to its full pontential is not worth it in my opinion.

You know what it doesnt make any sense. If i ever wanted to use HSDPA on my laptop ill just buy a HSDPA card for my laptop. I am def thinking about getting a N95. DAM.....
