Hi guys,

I paired by N95 with the HBH DS970 caller ID BT headset and everything works great except my contacts name doesn't show up on the headset's display. Is caller ID not supported with Nokia N series devices? I know its not a problem with the BT headset because Caller ID shows up fine when paired with other phones.

Thanks.

i think even some SE phones are having some problem with the caller ID on the 970...

i don't know which BT profile that the 970 caller id uses, but if the N95 does not have this profile, then you can not have caller id...

On another note, does the headset show songs while playing? Can you adjust the volume and forward, play, and pause using the headset? I have that headset and it works great with my P990i, but not sure whether to buy a new headset with the N95.

No caller ID and no track info on the headset display. However, the AVRCP profile works very well i.e. i can play, pause, rewind, fast-forward without any problem whatsoever. The audio quality is surprisingly good and to the untrained ear, making out a difference will be TOUGH. Audiophile's may complain (they always do) about the quality, but for wireless playback this thing is bloody fantastic. Range is pretty good too, so all in all the HBH-DS 970 makes a good companion to the N95...icing would be Caller ID support.

^ well the N95 can say the caller's name, so at least you can hear who is calling you and you don't even have to look anymore for the caller's id....

The caller id and track name may need to be updated via a firmware update. Either that or the Nokia and SE are not communicating with each other. I had problems with that headset and a few WM5 phones.

how have you paired these devices?? i've tried to do this by going to bluetooth/pair devices/new paired device but so far they won't find each other

Yeah it took me a while to pair too, I founf out that once you pair the for the first time, shut off the headset, and turn it back on, and that should work. The track info never worked for me with any of my phones except a SE phone.
