Why should they exactly? The NA consumer market by and large (hofo being the obvious exception) isn't interested and by extention neither are the carriers. Most NA consumers certainly aren't willing to pay the cost of a smartphone. Nokia isn't even the largest mobile phone player in NA anymore for that matter.
While I love the 850 band, it's not "needed" for the phone to work. I used to talk on my w810i for roughly 3 hours a day. Since my change in careers, etc, I hardly ever use my phone for anything other than pictures.
im also gonna be getting one of these hopefully even though i am in cali, but i am more towards the n93 because they perform the same and even though i am attracted to the n93i's looks, its the funtiion that counts and the n93 has a better battery life
Cant switch and I'm not sure I would if I could. T-mobile has a bad reputation in the d.c. area. I had Voicestream for years and it was never that great so I'm not sure. For my daily travels and commute Cingular has been perfect. I get full bars everywhere except for greatfalls/cascades area. That's an area that has very few towers so verizon/sprint/nextel dont get signals either....and of course t-mo.
Cingular has over 60 million subscribers and t-mobile has 25 million. You do the math Nokia! we need fn quadbands!
I had Voicestream when it first came out too, the signal was poor back then. Man, I remember when Sprint Spectrum first came out and I was with them too. If you wanna go back even further, I had Bell Atlantic back in the days too.
lmao...had them as well! I had cellular one for years and before that I cant quite remember. I've been a heavy cell user since '93-'94 and I've run the gambit since that time.
Sprint Spectrum/SprintPCS/Nextel/
Voicestream/At&t/At&tGSM/CellularOne/Cingular/BellAtlantic
T-mobilePrepaid/.....I think that's it
NEVER had verizon......of course I think they took over BellAtlantic so kind of did.
I've had Nextel for about 2 yrs too and At&t for one year and Verizon for about 5 months. I have a friend who is a DM for Verizon now but he started out with Sprint PCS then Nextel then Simply Wireless and now he's a corporate B2B sales trainer with Verizon. So I've basically had a phone everywhere he's worked at.
Was a DM at Verizon but got promoted to a B2B sales trainer for the Northeast.
yup...had voicestream before that and had a pre-paid tmobile account for awhile when my company was using nextHell. Horrible coverage here in D.C. Actually, not bad in the City but the surrounding suburbs where I live and work were just horrible.....but I was going to live without a nokia on my hip so I had no choice.
