The Nokia Flagship Store in New York City was able to upgrade the firmware on my N93 today. *#0000# now reports V 20.0.058, 21-10-06, RM-55, N93(30.01). There was no charge, and the process took about twenty minutes.

I telephoned first and told them I was having two problems:Every time I turn the phone on, I receive an "Unheard Voice Message" alert.Voice dialing stopped working after I added several hundred names to my address book. The representative told me the first problem was due to a "Ghost Message" and would have to be fixed by T-Mobile (see another thread), but that the second might be solved with a firmware upgrade, so "bring it in!"

I advise doing a backup before the upgrade.

Have those issues with the battery level indicator going crazy and not being able to press send while using a BT headset been fixed? I was also thinking of going over there to update but I remember reading about those problems a while back. Did you happen to ask them why the update wasn't available on NSU?

Angel Wing, you can mail me your phone to update... I'll send it back I swear

I went to the NYC store recently, hoping they'd upgrade it. Problem is, they said I have a German version of the N93, and the store only supports the English version. They couldn't read my phone when they hooked it up, supposedly.

Funny thing is, my N93 has all menus, text, etc in English. I did think it was odd that all the materials in the box in which it came were all in some foreign European language when I first got my phone.

Since I've heard of bugs in the V20 firmware, I'll wait until a newer version is released, if they do at all. For now, I'll stick to rebooting my phone once or twice a day to prevent it from freezing up. Kinda reminds me of the old Windows95 days...ha!
