N91 | N80 | N73 = What one would you choose & Why

Hey if you had a choice, and money wasn't an issue would you choose the Nokia N91, N80 or N73? I've heard great things about all 3 of these phones, bt I really like having wi-fi. I'vealso heard the N91 & N80 can be buggy at times.

Have there been any reviews or head to head comparisons on these phones?

Any recommendations, points I should consider?

Thanks!

All three have the same universal flaws that are coming with s60v3, so it's really hard to say. The N91 has problems with the hard drive and the screen is lower res, the N80 has terrible video, and the N73 lacks wifi. Typical Nokia. Nothing's perfect.

Based on the reviews I'm leaning more towards a N80. I can do w/ out the great video. But im concerned about the batery life.

How is the sinal strength on the tri badn N91 V.s. the quad band N80?

I dont know about the other 2 but i just got my N73 yesterday. I have to say that its def one of the best phones i've owned and i've owned quite a few.

Rick....

this is business 101. you NEVER put out the "perfect" product because then how are you going to sell more later? Plus, the idea of a "perfect" phone is abstract. For instance, to some, "perfect" requires WiFi. To me, WiFi is a novelty, I couldn't care less if my N80 has it or not. I use it only cause it's there. It was NOT a deciding factor in the least bit.

Yeah, but no wifi? I'd sell a couple extra body organs for the money to get it, but I'm not letting the scalpel come near me if it doesn't have wifi.

I have am having a similar dilemna with trying to decide between the n80 and n73... Looking over the pro's and cons the N73 seems to be the victor, and I don't care much for the wifi as i won't have much use for it. But I do prefer the slider design of the N80 over the candy bar design of the N73. The slider seemed a bit shaky and not very smooth when playing around with it tho. For N80 users, how do you find the slide mechanism? With the N73 i have read many issues with software problems and freezes, for N73 owners, has this problem been addressed with newer firmware or is the software on your N73 still buggy? Thanks for the help...

I recently sold my N80 and will be buying an N73 at the end of next week. However, you'll be surprised as to why:

I picked the N73 over it for basically two reasons: camera, and screen

I'd noticed that I don't take as many pictures with the N80 as I used to with my 6682 and I think the reason is cause it's a great camera, just not a great point and shoot camera. The video on it, I was real impressed (though not low-light, as has been beat to death). The N80 has a bit of shutter lag, leaving most pics slightly blurry cause i'm not a patient person.

The screen, the font on the N80 I personally found a little too small and not bold enough. There's another thread where someone posted a picture of the Text Message creation screen. On my N80, I have trouble reading it with certain themes and in different lighting, cause the letters aren't bold enough to be read. The N73 seems to have bolder text.

Honestly, those are the two reasons I decided to do it.

Build quality, at least on my (Made By Nokia, asian edition) N80, was superb. Battery door didn't move at all. The slide was solid, with a noticable "click" at fully open/closed. There was a little bit of play to the sides, but not visible to the eye, really.

The first firmware out the door sucked, but the newest, not sure what it is, was awesome. I never got out of memory errors and could use Web and Agile at the same time, no problems. Web never crashed on me, battery life was on par with my 6682. I could easily make it through a day.

I think the N80 got a bad rap because the first firmware was buggy. I do think with WiFi Nokia should have put a bigger battery in there, but it was certainly a very usable phone. I personally didn't have much use for WiFi, so it didn't matter to me, But I know it sucked the battery down pretty quick. If I wasn't so interested/reliant on the camera, I'd have kept it, it was an awesome phone, and the screen was amazing. I like the slide form factor, as well. I didn't think I would, but I'm a huge fan. All the benefits of a flip, without the hassle of opening it to do anything.

I'd say the N80 is awesome for entertainment-minded business users.

I personally have posted before that the battery life on my N80 is on par with the battery on my 6682. I was able, the other day, to sit on Agile (EDGE) for my entire 8hr workday, take a few calls, send 10-15 sms, and play about 20 min. total of snake, and still left the office with 1-2 bars. I'd say that's pretty damn good. Photos are great, but video is only sub-par in low light. I take vids all day in daylight and they're awesome.

There's a link to my N80 review in my sig, and the latest pics on http://stubby.textamerica.com are from my N80 yesterday.

All that being said, I'm looking to sell my N80 for an N73 because I don't use the WiFi all that much (it works great, and I use it, but only cause it's there. i ahve the grandfathered mediaworks package, so EDGE is fine for me) and cause I like the active slide on my 6682. The n80's size and screen, though, I think are awesome.

After updating the firmware on my N80, I have zero problems with memory running out or lags or freezes. I can surf all day with the Web browser and it doesn't crash.

I had my heart set on getting the n80, but after reading so many problems with the phone, I decided not to. I may consider the n73. I wanted to know is the ringer loud? The ringer on my w810i suck the big one. I miss every darn call. With my Motorola's, I don't have that issue. I don't expect it to be audible in a mall, but loud enough to hear in a car with the windows open.

i am trying to choose between the n73 and the n80 also. I was going to get the n91 for a while but decided to hold up due to the hd issues and so on. I really like the slide option on the n80 but since everybody is mentioning that the new firmware helped i am leaning towards the n80 for now.

Ha ha. If money really weren't an issue, I'd just buy all three and use whichever one I felt like on a particular day. The N73 is the only one that I haven't had a chance to play around with, so naturally, that's the one I want. The N91 is tri-band and even though it has that 4 gig hard drive, that's not that big a deal to me. I mean, I can't see myself using that up in it's entirety, so a 2 gig card would be fine for me. The battery life on the N80 gives me pause. N73 is the only one without wi-fi, but I've found that I don't use it anywhere near as much as I would have thought I would. So that would be my pick.

i am also in the same dilemma

one question tho can you use regular headphones to listen to music on the n80 and n73 or do you have to you the headset that comes with the phone... was wondering if they had headphone jacks for using regular headphones instead of using it as an mp3 player and have to use the headset
thanks

i own both n73 and n80. my major concern about n80 is that the battery dies fast and the cammera is like oilpainting. the video is terrible. i have to admit, wifi is really awesome but the battery lasts only up to 2 hours with continous wifi browsing. i just got my n73 today and its AWESOME. the pictures are superb. sounds and everything. only thign missing is WIFI. i have alot of friends who got the n91 and sold it instantly because it hangs ALOT. so in my onclusion, if you want n91, go buy an ipod instead. , if you want wifi, go for n80, and for camwhoring and videowhoring, go for n73
