N82 (RM-313) Product Code List

Have I got it right that, in order to change the language to an default unsupported one of the phone the first step would have to be to use NSS to change the product code and then let loose the NSU to install new firmware in the right (new) version ?

So, as blesio, I too would be interested in a new firmware-version for the N82 because otherwise, if I got it right, it would not be possible to get menus in a language from another productcode. That is, if the NSU would only upgrade if there was a higher firmware-number available instead of always ...

For those that updated to EURO2 and EURO3 what languages does it have?

@anotheran, No problem, glad it's working for everyone so far.

Actually I had the same firmware on the phone as on the NSU, I still managed to change languages withiut any problems. NSU lets you install the same firmware again on the phone.

quick question everyone - is it a MUST that you update your firmware after you change your product code?

i have an n82 that came with 10.0.046 firmware (presumably, the newest) - of course, its not the euro code so no matter what, i have some sort of shutter sound - id like to change it to a euro code - would i have to update the firmware after i do so?

also - i know with se's, firmware updates almost always wiped my phones clean
- does changing the product code wipe the phone?
- does updating firmware wipe the phone?

any help would be great!

Not going to work, you change the region because certain regions don't have issues with people taking voyeur pics, basically they're alot more strict in Asia so all Asian firmware has the shutter sounds, Only the EURO firmware doesn't have the Shutter sound when it's silent.

3rd party flashing? If you don't mind can you direct me to a couple of sites for this? I have experience with 3rd party flashing with SE's but am totally clueless with nokia since I haven't owned one since...I think the 6260 (which was years ago). I'm planning to buy a N82 but I'm also looking for no shutter sound plus chinese language pack. Actually...I can care less whether or not I can type chinese. I'm actually just looking for chinese language display support. Is there a japanese language pack available by any chance?

I have changed my N82 from some Asian productcode to Euro2. After that I did software upgrade, and now my N82 is Euro2 and has silent camera!
All went perfect, so thanks for the information.

But I think I noticed one thing: is it possible that the font is different now? Mine looks a bit bolder... (Offcourse I have the same fontsize)
