N80 with BMW Bluetooth

I also have an N80, and i own a 2007 X3.
I tried pairing up my phone with the BT system, with no use a friend of mine had the Sony Ericsson T68 and it worked perfectly. my phone doesn't recognize the BT system as a headset, but rather as speakers only. I'll keep watching this thread for updates on any firmware or software update that we could do to resolve this issue ! its a shame that my N80 can't pair up with BT kit, specially that both are the newest things available in the market.

that time when i paired my n90 to my friend's car via bt, we didn't encounter any problem calling out. No problem recieving a call either. I didn't get a chance to check the address book coz I didn't know that it can do it that time, so does my friend. Maybe next time when I see him I'll check it again. I'll give it a try with my other friend who just got his 3series.

well i guess its a bunch of mixed reviews here, some get connection some dont... my n73 does not work on my 06 330cic but now the entire system doesnt work (my moto v3i wont work either) so im assuming something is wrong with the car, once it gets fixed i will try to pair it again. here i am thinking the n73 would be the most perfect phone and the simplest feature of bluetooth doesnt even work

series 60 phones dont pair at all or very well with bimmers for some reason in general. so if you are saying 'sell the phone' you might have a problem getting another s60 phone to work..

I am reading this post, and I have a similar problem... my N73 pairs with my '07 BMW 335i, but no connection can be made... not even a call in or out. I also turned on the remote SIM mode, still no avail.

I spent $350 on this phone, after renewing a 2 yr contract with Cingular. My dealer's Razor paired and connected so easily (in seconds!). But I don't wanna own a Razor (problems I hear), plus why downgrade a cell phone?! I absolutely love the camera on the N73 (used it for my Italy vacation reacently), and the 3G service... Although it'll be cool too to take full advantage of my '07 BMW with iDrive...

Help!!! Any firmware updates? Or what is the next best phone out there that is also compatible with BMW BT? Thanks!!

It definitely does work with my K800i. I've read around that BMW's bluetooth might not pair up correctly if you're having messages or emails in your k800i's inbox. that didn't happen to me so far, i think its mainly because i have the latest firmware on my phone. (the phone updates itself via any internet connection it finds). i keep my bluetooth switch on and whenever i get in the car, it just pairs automatically.

Ok, i posted like a month ago when i was having problems pairing my 07 X3 to my N80.
here is what i did:

i bought a new phone ! yes, this was the only way to work around it. i mean, the problem relays in Nokia's bluetooth technology.
From my understanding, the N80 doesn't even have the latest bluetooth (i.e. v. 2.0).
when my brother came to visit, he paired his SE P990 (which runs symbian software as well) and it paired flawlessly. He was able to sync the contacts and his phone recognized X3's bluetooth as a headset.
I bought a SE K800i, and so far no troubles.
I need this thing to work because i use the phone a lot when i commute by car.
Seeing how Nokia and BMW keep blaming each others without any news on fixes or workarounds. i decided to quit my beloved N80 and get a SE K800i.

best of luck to the rest of you guys !
