Changing phone's operation mode failed.
Do you want to retry?

HRESULT 0x80043005 (-2147209211)

CMtcFN::SetCurrentMode, transition not allowed;MTCFN=0x80043005

please help me asap!

I think I had gotten that message first time I tried to flash my N80. I ended up removing everything that is nokia related, ran registry cleaner then reinstall...actually took me couple times then voila..I got it to flash with no error.

If your phone is still ok. I would try reinstalling diego, phoenix...then attempt to flash again. if all failed, try flashing on a machine that have no nokia softwares on it.

thanks for you reply,
i think the phone is still ok, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the progs but it didnt work (that was before i read you message), but i will try again now as you did and i hope it will work

unforuntately creamdust I'm not sure how to do it, but I know it's possible and several people have resurrected their phones using this method. In fact, the phone shop i took my e61 to when it had the same problem did the exact same thing. maybe somebody else can give exact step-by-step instructions. i stopped using pheonix with the new prospects of the nokia updater.

Yep. Resetting just brings the phone back to its original settings in a brute manner, while flashing completely puts new software on it.

oh i see i tried resetting it by *#7370# it did go to online mode, but there is no signal! i cant make any calls, the sim is ok i checked it.
i tried removing the sim and opened the phone, it opened in offline mode, then i closed it and put the sim back again, then it got stuck back into offline mode!!!
HELP!

are you trying to do it without the sim card in the phone try
Just put your sim back in the phone (or take it out if it was already in) and try again

sorry for not being definate in answers but i am just giving you by best guess

ok creamdust
just connect your phone with phoenix by using usb cable, then in phoenix change the mode to "test mode", after that rechange the mode to "normal mode" and it will work
my regards

unfortunately it didnt:

The mode setting request failed.
There were problems in communication with the product. Check that the product is connected properly and that the connection has been established.

HRESULT 0x80042007 (-2147213305)

i tried again and i got a longer error message:

The mode setting request failed.
There were problems in communication with the product. Check that the product is connected properly and that the connection has been established.

HRESULT 0x80042007 (-2147213305)

PNMsgIO: No message(s) received in given time;MTI32=0x80042007

CMtcFN::TryReadProductMode, failed;MTCFN=0x80042007
CMtcFN::RefreshMode, failed;MTCFN=0x80042007

This is what i found looks like reinstalling phoenix helps in this case

If, after starting the flash, you get the error: Changing phones operation mode failed.
Do you want to retry?

HRESULT 0x80042007 (-2147213305)

PNMsgl0: SetCurrentMode, mode setting request
failed;MTCFN=0x80042007
then the only advice so far is to uninstall all of the software from your PC, restart it, and reload the whole lot from scratch.

Error ?HRESULT 0x80043005? means that you have left your SIM card in the phone.

follow these steps :
file->manage connections->usb then apply->file->scan product->in operating mode choose test->wait a moment till the phone is set to the test mode->in operating mode again choose normal.
follow these steps and u'll see

it is very close to the error i get: HRESULT 0x80042007
i tried with the sim in the phone and also without the sim, same result
i uninstalled everything 3 times in the last 24 hrs, it is extremely boring, i dont know what happened, i flashed the phone twice yesterday with the new firmware, the 1st time i didnt find adobe reader or the antivirus, but the second time they were installed, that is when i found out that it wont get out of the offline mode.
i just want my phone back like when i bought it, i dont want no new firmware anymore.

believe me hardost i tried, i will uninstall everything and try again!

i uninstalled everything related to nokia and then installed:
62324921_Diego_3_07_SP2.msi
Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver_6_80_5_1_eng_uk.msi
phoenix_service_sw_2006_20_9_148.exe
Phoenix Dongle Crack.exe
RESTART
Phoenix_2006.zip (crack)
N80_RM-92_EMEA_PR_dp_v13.00_SW4.0623.0.41.exe

then i got this error messaage (test then normal):

The mode setting request failed.
There were problems in communication with the product. Check that the product is connected properly and that the connection has been established.

HRESULT 0x80042007 (-2147213305)

i tried RF Inactive then flashing then sw update. i got this message:

Changing phone's operation mode failed.
Do you want to retry?

HRESULT 0x80043005 (-2147209211)

CMtcFN::SetCurrentMode, transition not allowed;MTCFN=0x80043005
