N80 caller ID strangeness

I have this strange question/issue. Caller ID works fine on my N80. That being said, if I get a call from a number that's not in my phonebook, I only see the number, not the name broadcasted by the network. On my old backup SE t637 and Moto V400 broadcasted names show up just fine.

Any ideas?

it's a network issue. Same issue with my E61 and Rogers in Canada.

The method used to send out the Name ID by the network is not always compatible with all phones.

I've NEVER had a cellphone show the broadcasted name.

Well, I guess it's your carrier. Rogers up here in Canada does that... Unfortunately my bloody N80 doesn't support it
