N8 vs E7

Just curious what is the difference between these two except the obvious qwerty ?

They seem to have the same casing display and memory

Or simply, the E7 has a 8MP camera instead of the 12MB cam in the N8, E7's screen is bigger at 4 inches, it contains some software for buisness use and is a bit heavier and larger. Those are the main differences

There are more differences than expected, read the chart. No autofocus on the E7, no microSD expansion, no FM transmitter among others.

Of all the four devices, the N8 appeals to me the least. For me its the C7, followed by the E7 and C6-01 in a tie, and then the N8.

If someone were to want the best of both (E7/N8) worlds, would it be easier/cheaper to buy an E7 and add the accessories (USB/HDMI cables?) etc if needed, or get an N8 and put the right software on it?

I guess the question is almost rhetorical, because only I can decide for myself whether the 12MP camera and autofocus are more important than the keyboard and the E-unique software and general robustness (anticipated) of the E7, relative to the N8.

Sigh.

ETA: If the C7 had a keyboard, that would be the smart buy!

Another thing to consider would be the likelihood (relative) of any of these being S^4 upgradeable, although I'd be pessimistic on that one.

I really like both models alot. I think depends on use as to which one you would prefer. I tend to take more pictures so the N8 is edging out the E7 for me. I have really liked the sample photos I have seen so far. If the E7 had auto focus I would probably consider it more (the xenon flash is preferred but not a deal breaker).

Are you sure the E7 doesn't have autofocus? GSM Arena says otherwise. Anyway that would be a dealbreaker for me. I like using my phone as a makeshift scanner to photograph text and you can't do that without autofocus. No high-end phone should be without autofocus.

The E7 uses EDoF so that means no AF and no macro mode.

Instead of a fm transmitter I think i would of rather had upnp like the n95 had. It was great to randomly play songs from my n95 in any room with a computer. Everytime i have used the fm transmitter i get too much static noise.

AFAIK the E7 has the new clearblack screen technology and the N8 doesn't They are making it hard for me to choose between these 2 phones. Some features on one phone i want and some features of the other i want....damn them!

E7 support for "Switch" is just an extra home screen. Screen 1 for business, 2 for personal or however you want to set it up.
