N75 on current Online Cingular Rebate Form

How about making it look exactly like the V3xx/A707 GUI?



If they did that, there would be ZERO reason to buy this phone. You might as well get the N76 with FP1 and 3.5mm jack.



I really doubt it will have FP1. It didn't have it on the models I played with at CES. It would be nice if it did though.
 
There is on serious design flaw on the N75 which is Nokia's fault.......they put the pop-port on the side of the phone (they did the same thing with the N90). They're marketing this thing as a "music phone", but now you can't carry the phone in your pocket and listen to music at the same time since the 3.5mm adaptor (plus headphone jack) just won't fit. Unless they add A2DP, this phone will be quite unusable to me as a portable music player just like my N90.
 
Thank you, but could you tell me the title of that other thread? I don't scan all threads, only a few, and nothing jumps out at me as relevant to this discussion.

Now that you mention it, I can well believe that Nokia has a problem obtaining a chip that can handle North American 3G. When the N80 was first annnounced in November 2005, it was supposed to come in two versions for high-speed data: UMTS 1900 for North America, and UMTS 2100 for elsewhere. Nokia then quietly dropped the 1900 version. I wonder, then, if something like this is causing the N75 to be delayed - or worse, crippled with data limited to EDGE.

If you don't know IHAP, he's usually the only person spot on about phones, and he has hinted to the fact that Nokia has dropped the ball with the UMTS portion (voice and data) of the phone.

And I'm no Cingular fanboy, if it wasn't for their coverage, rollover and Symbian phones I wouldn't be with them at all.
 
You really make me work, man. AFAIK there is no such place as Cingular Forums>PDA and Smartphone> N75 Release Date Discussion, and I've been unable to find the name of a contributor named IHAP on the Cingular boards. But please don't pursue the matter unless you can provide a specific link.

I did see some discussion, however, of the N75, none of it remotely authoritative.

Speculation about upcoming phones is generally futile anyway. If the N75 is released in the next few months, fine - otherwise, there are (or will be) pickings elsewhere, even if one must break ranks with S60.

Not quite that much...I didnt realize it existed until tonight...I usually dont go into the cingular forum as I'm not that loyal I just read the whole thing though...sheww...i'm at least up to speed though. From what i've gathered....a lot of different people have heard from many different people that have given them many different responses to the many different release dates.....up to speed though is the phones not out yet!
 
Many thanks, greenteeth. I thought xj911 was directing me to the discussion forums at cingular.com. I had wrongly assumed that all discussions of S60 phones at HoFo would be in this forum and had no idea there was a massive thread on the N75 elsewhere on this website.
