Perhaps old news, but :

The phone is not yet offered, nor could business care attest to when its coming nor its pricing.

Wirelessly posted (Nokia 6682: Nokia6682/2.0 (4.65.0) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Lol. Check the threads in the cingular forum. Make sure u dedicate a couple of hours.

New news is what I sought. I have been avidly tracking the false hope news for 5-6 months. &Yes I had seen the faked internal rebate sheet noted on Engadget, but had not seen anything at Cing suggesting its arrival, until I examined the current Cing rebate pdf. Moreover in my previous post I understated the value of the on-phone Cing Business Care person. This was the first time they had any listing of the N75 when I asked, albeit without price or arrival date.

Spoke to a chap in the Cingular store today; he was sharp, unlike some salesmen one meets. He was well aware of the N75 and its features and even told me what rate plans to expect with this phone. He didn't say when it would come out, and I didn't ask; but he offered to call me when it's available. I take this as a sign that the N75 will be out soon.

....I've been into 3 Cingular retail stores in the D.C. Metro area and no one in the store had heard of the N75. In fact, 2 out of the 3 stores didnt realize their E62 was the watered down version of the E61....in fact, they didnt even realize their was an E61 so I have little faith in Cingular retail employees. I hope your right but my experiences have not been good.

For some reason Cingular doesn't seem to consider the N75 as a smartphone, just another 3G music phone. For this reason, they're trying to customize it like their other 3G phones like the A707, CU500, and V3xx. I'm sure this is the reason for the constant delay (I don't believe the bluetooth problem rumor). From what I've heard, once the customization is finally completed, it won't look anything like the original N75. They don't do this on the Blackberry's, Treos, and WM devices. Someone should let them know the phone runs the same OS as the E62....

Any S60 fan should avoid this phone if it's not released by March.

Many phones get tossed on rebate forms. The 6126/6131/6133 variant was on the rebate forms as well as the N80 and none of which ended up on their shelves. I hope the N75 shows up for AT&T's sake cause they're the only ones that really care about series 60 phones. T-Mobile is retarded in this part haha. Ah well...we shall see.

The clerks in my Cingular store make a distinction, for rate plan purposes, between "regular? phones and "PDAs". A PDA, in their lexicon, is any phone with a qwerty keyboard. The best unlimited data plan for these is $40/mo. Regular phones, like the N75, qualify for $20/mo unlimited data.

Except to add logos and shopping links, I don't know what Cingular can do to hobble the N75. It was touted from the beginning by Nokia as a super-duper music phone. Conceivably Cingular will disable 3G, to restrict data use, but that seems unlikely since the unit appears to have been designed specifically for Cingular.

The delay may have something to do with branding related to the merger with AT&T. There may also be some difficulty involving FP1, which I hope (without much reason to hope) will be present.

I don't see any options to the N75 on the horizon. A pocket-sized S60 phone with UMTS 850/1900 is a rare bird.

If you have been keeping up on the other thread, apparently Nokia doesn't know how to make a North American 3g handset that actually works....it's not entirely Cingular's fault this time.

That thread is filled with Cingular fanboys who refuse to acknowledge that it is Cingular that's the problem. I had to add a couple of people to my ignore list as they annoyed me so much with their blinded love for Cingular.
