N73 vs N75

Can someone post the +/- to each of these phones? I am looking for something that I can use as a DAP, for daily bus rides, gym etc. Also, I know the N75 has some integration with Yahoo Music. I happen to work for Yahoo and get discounts with Cingular, as well as a free year of Y!Music Pro.. if that makes any difference. I am currently with T-Mob, but would consider moving over to Cingular. I would really like it if I could keep my current T-Mob number, but im not sure if thats possible? Size and camera are also quite important.

N73 vs N75

The N75 is about 400.00 dollars more them N73, that makes a Vs winner
there is no comparasion ........ N75 wins on every aspect.

N75

Nothing concrete in terms of availability or pricing, Roughly the same size as a RAZR, like, 5-8mm thicker, only 2MP cam (no auto-focus), UMTS (only good on Cingular), will work with Cingular's new Cingular Music service, which yes, integrates with Yahoo! Music.

N73

Available now, and for moderately cheap, pretty stinkin small, imo, outstanding 3.2MP CZ cam with auto-focus (most of the recent pictures on my textamerica link below are taken with my N73), only EDGE (in the States), could be used with T-mobile or Cingular, no integration with Yahoo! Music.

If you get Yahoo! Music free, and a discount with Cingular, I'd probably wait out the N75. If camera is more important to you, get the N73.
 
Wow I didnt realize the pricing was that different! The N73 is already a pretty pricey phone -- I wonder if there will be discounts if signing up for a contract through Cingular on the N75?

Also, does N75 have flickr integration? A2DP?
 
400 dollars more than n73 is not worth paying for n75...n75 has 16 mill colors,60mb space,gprs class 11,edge class 11,no secondary camera for video calling,and 2 pm camera no carl zeiss n73 has 242 thousand colors,42 mb, gprs class 10,edge class 10, 3.2 mp camera with carl zeiss and much stronger battery................. n75 is more bout internet but not bout camera....i prefer much better camera more than a bit better internet
 
no A2DP, but flickr shouldn't be a problem. If not, there's an EXCELLENT program called ShoZu (.com) that installs on the phone and allows you to upload automatically to any number of sites. I'd highly recommend checking it out.
 
uh several of the above posts are wrong.

The N75 is meant to be a mid-range phone custom built for Cingular. It is missing some features on the N73, like a 2MPx camera versus a 3MPx on the N73, no secondary camera, and it's custom built so it's a flip phone instead of a bar, it uses US based UMTS frequencies and it's integrated with Cingular's online music services and web sites. The N75 costs less than the N73 since it has less features. We know Cingular will introduce it very soon, but we don't know if or when Nokia will sell it unbranded, while the N73 has been available for a while.
 
so with the 3g/utms on the N75, that basically just allows me to surf at high speeds on the phone? does that cost extra per month?

also any idea if i can keep my tmob# if i do decide to switch over to cingular?
 
n75 is only good for US but for europe its crap cause in europe u can use 3g and video call with many phones and in US u cant so n75 is made especially for US
 
1. yes you can keep your number. Just don't cancel your T-mobile, take your most recent T-mobile bill in with you when you get your Cingular (or have it handy). It's no big deal at all.

2. The N75 hopefully will be cheaper than the N73. Personally I think it'll launch at the $50-100 range with a new 2-year contract, but there is nothing concrete to back that up. Purely personal speculation based on a number of things.

3. The N73 has class 11 EDGE. I know cause the 6682 had class 10 EDGE and when sitting in the same spot, from a fresh power cycle, with the same SIM card, I get faster speeds with the N73.

4. I have a buddy who works on the Cingular account at Nokia here in Dallas. According to him, the N75 will be out on Cingular before it's available unbranded. I know for a fact that Cingular and Nokia have been working VERY closely on this phone for a long time (before the summer, at the least) and so Cingular has some exclusivity tied to it.

5. As was stated, the N73 is more camera-focused (no pun intended) while the N75 is going to be more media-centric. Having the N73, I personally haven't decided yet if I'll pick up the N75. I'm pretty spoiled with the camera on the N73, but I'm also a data-whore, so the UMTS is tempting.

No. The N73 can be had for around $450 or so no contract. The N75 has NO PRICING AVAILABLE as of yet. There have been NO OFFICIAL PRICING ANNOUNCEMENTS from either Nokia or Cingular. Anything you have read regarding pricing for the N75 is PURE SPECULATION.

There is no way the N75 would be $800 or more.
 
Ahh very cool. all good stuff to know. I just checked out your pics on textamerica, they look good. And those are scaled down a bit too it looks like?

I see you were in San Fran -- thats where I am hehe. Do you know of any cheap places around this area to pick up a N73? I was thinking about holding out for the Music Edition, but now not so sure. I would like to see the different colors available, but havent found something that has them side by side. Sorry for all the questions, but what is a good price for the n73?
 
pricing check out fonegrabber.com. I wouldn't know any places, I was only there visiting, actually only there for Monday morning. Do a member search for Prometheus, he's from the Bay Area and might know of some good indirects.

The Music Edition looks nice, but under the housing it's the same thing. Given that it's sure to carry a markup when it DOES come out, just get the regular one now, get yourself a nice roomy 2GB memory card, and then once the black housings come out, do yourself a swap. Way easier. I have the white/mocha N73 and I think it looks nice. I bought mine from Hi-Mobile.net, and highly recommend them. I bought my N80 from Cti-miami on Ebay, they were great to deal with as well.

If you're going to be switching carriers, or doing an upgrade, you would probably do better to find a local agent there in San Fran, they may give a discount on it for a new contract. Again, find some HoFoers from the area and see where they suggest.
 
Absolutely. The N75 is a small, thin flip from Cingular with 850/1900 UMTS, a 2MP shooter and external music buttons.

The N95 is a slider from Nokia with UMTS 2100, a 5MP Carl Zeiss lens, WiFi, built-in GPS, and all kinds of other crap. This one might be $400 more than the N73, but the N75 won't be at all.

1. Because I like my N73
2. I have a LD-1W Bluetooth GPS adapter
3. I live in the US
4. I have unlimited data, and only have WiFi at my house

Thus, the N95 doesn't offer me much beyond my N73 other than several hundred dollars less in my wallet and a new screen. At this point in the game, I won't buy another phone till it's US 3G. I know I've said that before but I'm extremely pleased with my N73 and am willing to hold onto it for a while longer.
