as told in http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1132466 this thread by "zeze" i wanted to remove themes, so the 1st step was to activate "mass storage" mode, but my N73 isnt letting me do it, when i select "mass storage" after connecting it to a data cable, it warns me thatPhone will be in offline mode when mass storage mode is active. Continue?"

when i click OK, it gives me an error saying "Unable to activate mass storage, the memory card is in use by another application"

what should i do? the apllications i installed recently are "Shozu" and "Blacklist" by "SmartPhoneWare"

What memory are you using for your SMS??? If it is the memory card memory you need to change it back to phone.... its stupid i know..

Did you change the fonts on your phone? If yes, then thats the problem. You have to delete the new fonts using a card reader

resource/fonts folder on the mem card, this is blocking the access to the mem card.

best regards

No i havent changed the font either! :-( i have done nothing but install few themes and lots of applications! this is so frustrating, cant do anything about this!

Just turn off the phone and restart it. Then it should go into mass storage mode. Or update to the latest firmware. This was a problem with one of the firmware versions.

"w810fan" i did try restarting the phone, but it didnt help! right now i did what was suggested while removing fonts from your phone, thats remove memory card, start the fone and then put the card in, then it goes into mass storage mode!
but im looking at this as a temporary solution, as i dont want to remove n put memory card everytime i need to use mass storage mode! so im still looking for a permanent solution for this problem!

P.S. does anybody use shozu here on their n73? (which is installed on memory card) if yes then plz try using mass storage mode! cuz i strongly belive that even since i installed shozu, i have been having this problem!

thanx a lott!

yes that's your problem. YOu need to have shozu installed to the phone memory. A good rule of thumb for installing apps is anything that will always be on (Jaiku, Handy Taskman, ShoZu, etc) needs to be installed to the phone memory. This will not only make your phon run faster, but will prevent problems such as this.

Hey chirantan, no worries

I'm about 99% sure that this is a problem with Best Blacklist. Did you install it on your memory card? Best Blacklist has a background process that runs regardless of the app status and can cause this type of problem. So there are two things that you can do:

1. Uninstall Best Blacklist.
2. Use a card reader connected to your PC rather than Mass Storage mode.

There is a third option but I'm not sure it will work:

Click the power button quickly and scroll down to remove memory card (always remove the memory card this way).
Go through the process to remove the memory card.
Now put the card back into the phone and quickly connect your data cable.

Maybe then you can select Mass Storage mode before Best Blacklist can restart.

I'm with Ricky on this one, guaranteed it's Shozu. Shozu has a daemon that runs in the background that stays open, so you can't use mass memory mode if it's installed on your memory card. It took me three frustrating hours of uninstalling and reinstalling apps one by one on my n80 to figure that out!

At any rate, for now the fix is to install shozu to the memory card, as Ricky said, but I've talked the Shozu rep who is on the forums occasionally, and he says there's a 'kill switch' in the next version that allows you to quickly turn of the daemon when you need to access Mass Storage, and then restart it when you're done.

The best thing i found is "set to choose mode each time" so when you connect the phone its ask, thus clearing the state from before. Once you get it on "choose" then choose nokia suite, then disconnect and choose mass storage.

This doesn't help with the issue at hand though FullStrength... no matter what, even when you set it to that mode, the apps that leave a daemon running all the time will cause Mass Storage Mode to fail, if they are installed on the card.

That's why Shozu, and Best Blacklist, need to be installed to the phone, rather than the memory card.

Guys thanx a lott for all of your help! i have finally got the mass storage mode working, as many said "ShoZu" was the culprit, i juts removed it and installed it to phone memory, and everything just fell into place! oh and as "zeze" said Best Blacklist could have caused the same problem, but i had installed that to phone memory since start, so it couldnt create any such problem!

anyway guys thanx again!!
