N73 Speaker Problems.....

i just got this phone yesterday, and from the sounds of it, the stereo speakers suck really really badly.

Now im wondering if its the phone, or if its the fact that im using m4a files instead of mp3.

anyone have the same problem?? its disappointing!

I also find the sound from the stereo speakers terrible (although no worse than many other phones) and very disappointing, compared to the 3250. Coming from a 3250 to an N73, there is a big difference in loudspeaker sound quality. The 3250 has the best loudspeaker I've ever heard. Don't get me wrong it's still handy being able to listen to the radio/music player through the loudspeaker but there's room for improvement.

i'm comparing the n73 to a k790a, and there really is no comparison, i put an mp3 file on the phone and it sounds like tin cans.

i searched online on other forums and this is a common problem with the n73, since the stereo speakers are located above and below the handset, the only way for them to sound crisp is to center the phone to your nose so the speakers are situated Left and Right.

But i guess not everyone is as picky as i am.

all around good phone, just crap speakers, ( headphones sound great)

I think the N73 speakers blow every SE speaker away....you can always tell an SE speaker is going off by its tinny high-pitched sound...

Like another post mentioned, I believe you may have the 3d Ringtone Effect on. I noticed the same thing with my N73 when I first got it. I did a few searches and didn't find any mention of it so I assumed it wasn't a common problem and that maybe my settings weren't right. Later I messed with my phone a little more and turned off all the special ringtone enhancements and now my speaker is awesome. Better than my SE phone like others have said.

I'm using the ME firmware, but there should be an application called 3D Tones. I turned all the options to off. Also in the music player under audio settings I have stereo widening turned off and loudness off. I'm not completely sure if these settings are in the vanilla N73 firmware. For me these settings gave IMO the best sound.
