i am thinking of getting an n73.

how is the ear piece volume ?

do u recommend it overall ? i have heard abt the cases where the joystick broke is this problem with all the phones ?

thanks

its good phone but its a bit slow...it has excelent sound..good quality of photos but at night it not good because it doesnt hav a good flash..its better to wait for n95 cause its much better

The ear piece volume is OK, I usually have to listen about 8-10 which is maximum, I would have liked it to be louder but maybe you could pick up a regular 3.5 adaptor and get some decent headphones and it could be better.
I think the phone is good, as to the speed issues I have never had a Symbian device so have nothing to compare it to but I am liking it.
As for the joystick issue, no problems here and I'm sure they are isolated cases.

speed wise it's fast as you could expect from a symbian and in fact faster in some ways (other than the camera which may have been fixed in the recent FW release)...however, volume battery life and thrill factor are through the friggin roof with this phone. I have it and lost interest the second the N95 was formally revealed...(but i'm an idiot like that)

Great phone if your lucky enough not to get a creaker and a shaker.

I find my phone to be much more responsive when using a theme designed by Nokia. Smaller memory footprint and less complicated menu icon graphics must make a difference.

I was previously using some themes I downloaded from mobile9 and I can swear that it's faster now that I've switched back to a Nokia theme. Then again, I could just be smoking some good stuff...

BTW, the N95's drawback may be poor battery life. Between wifi and gps, I'd be surprised if it can get better battery life than the N80. Unless they use a bigger battery and AGPS, this phone may just do worse than the N80.

I agree with DRW... I notice the same thing in regard to response time and the type of theme, in house themes are great for it but other themes lag a bit. I have about 40 themes on my N73 of which I made all myself and never use the original themes. Just wish I could figure out how to delete some . But everyone is right about the battery life, it's unbelievable.

Connect your phone to PC using mass storage mode and look under \private\10207114\import. There should be a folder for each theme, in this path. Just delete those folders, whose themes are not listed in the Application Manager.

Note: I'm assuming that you installed these themes to the storage card.

Cheers for that DRW... but tried that and have no "private" folder anywhere in the phone. Found some files under the folder "sys" that had numbers similar to the ones you posted (10207114) and deleted all of them but themes are still in the phone. Amazing that deleting themes can not be done, maybe I have a defective phone.

Cheers mate, LL-

Did you install these themes to the memory card or phone? If you installed these to the phone, then you're SOL. If you installed to the memory card, make sure you have the option to view hidden files and folders turned on. The "private" folder should be in the root of the memory card.

Yeah mate installed the themes on the memory card but how do you get to view hidden files ? I have the phone connected but see no option for that

I have the phone hooked up and only have the following folders visible;
Data, Documents, Images, Lifeblog, Others, Sounds, Videos, Sys and have gone through every one right to the end and nothing ??

Got it !!! Thanks guys for the help, got to view the hidden files and it was all as DRW... said and now the phone is clean.
I like to keep all the files on my mobile neat and tidy and down to a minimum, this is a big help
Cheers, LL-
