Mytouch with SLOW internet

I'm not sure if I understand this. My Mytouch always has signal for calls/texts, but I get "E" all the time instead of "3G." My brother obnoxiously has the iPhone and always has a fast data connection. Is something wrong with my phone? I have it rooted currently and I've flashed new radio's, but I haven't seen any change. Any suggestions?
 
Does your brother has the iphone with at&t? My brother has the Iphone as well and his connection is faster than my internet speed, even when I have full bars with 3G showing, he still has a faster speed than me. I hope when tmobile rolles out with the HSPA+ it would be the other way around, by the way, I have G1 and rooted as well with all the latest radio and running SuperD latest.
 
He is on AT&T. Don't we share CDMA Towers though? I guess I'm butthurt that we work at the same place and he can watch videos and my market time's out.
 
Nope, different towers, At&t has has their towers and tmobile has their towers as well. Same thing here, my brother downloads and surfs some webpages a bit faster and sometimes way faster than me all the time, he has a constant fast speed non-stop.
 
Check out this site to see if Tmo even offers 3G in your area at this time. They just recently brought it to my neck of the woods, crazy different speeds!

well i am in Miami,FL been having 3G here since tmobile launch date and it was fast at first, then more 3G phones came out of course and got slower throut the day. TMO tower signals are weak. I just check the coverage area here and it's under "Very Fast Mobile Web" but i only notice this at night, starting around 11:00 PM, less traffic, but it seems that AT&T towers have stronger signals, like I mentioned before, my brother has the same constant internet speed all the time and for me is variable.
