Mysterious fevers without origin. EVERY NIGHT! For about a year!

I've been to every local hospital. This has been going on for as long as i can remember..a couple months if so year. I have a congenital heart condition. I have bicuspid aortic valve. In the past i was treated for endocarditis. Ever night I get really bad fever. I go to sleep and wake up in the middle of the night shaking and shivering. My whole bed is soaked with foul smelling sweat. Everytime i go to the hospital they say its a viral infection. They give me antibiotics and liquid. It makes me feel better but a couple days after it happens again. I feel worthless because this is ruining my life. I am failing school because i stay up all night shivering. I can't get work done because i feel so weak and dizzy. My eyes hurt. My head hurts extremely. I get aches all over my body. My abdominal area hurts. My chest area around my heart hurts. When this happens i have no appetite at all. I had protein in my urine. I don't know what to do and everywhere i go nobody can seem to help me. A couple days ago my primary doctor has referred me to an oncologist, ent, and cardiologist. I probably missed other symptoms but this is all i can remember of the top of my head. the doctor said i have fever with out origin. Should i go to the hospital now because i have 101 but i feel everytime i go they just tell me there is nothing wrong. They probably think i am crazy because i go there so often. By the way i forgot to say, im 23 years old. Thanks
 
Ok, before you read the rest of my post, take your pulse. Do you know how to? Turn one hand (i.e. Left) over so the palm is facing up. Take the first 3 fingers of your other hands (Right ) and put them on your (left hand's) thumb. Move the fingers down until all three fingers are on the wrist, just below the crease. You can feel your pulse here. Take a few breaths till you are relaxed, then count how many beats in 60 seconds. Ok, go ahead and do that now before finishing this post.

I have had a family member with endocarditis and her symptoms completely mirrored yours, I mean completely, and she went undiagnosed for a long time until she had a mini stroke from it. Its not a common thing so docs don't always think of testing for it. Really, the best thing to do would go to the ER and ask for an urgent evaluation to see if you have endocarditis. This would include at minimum, a 2D-echo or TEE, an EKG, blood cultures. If your heart rate was above 110 while relaxed that too is a sign that this could be another episode of endocarditis. Tell them about the severe headaches and eye pain and ask for an MRI of the head as well since endocarditis can do that too. Best of luck to you for a speedy recovery and do keep us posted..... and please do go to the ER =( Tell them about your history of endocarditis, your symptoms, and ask for those tests specifically by name. If the ER discharges you without giving you these tests, call the cardiologist, ask for a same day appointment, and ask him to order these tests for you. (make sure the order sheet is written as a STAT test too. If they could do a CT of the chest that would also be helpful but its importance is much less than the other tests for diagnosing endocarditis.
