myFaves question

desperate

I just started as a myFaves customer this morning, and I have a question about how it works on my Curve 8320.

If I call someone from the myFaves interface on the berry, there appears a little icon by their name and number during the call indicating the myFaves call.

However, if I call the same person either by direct dialing the number, or navigating through the address book, the myFaves icon is not present during the call. For the myFaves to work correctly, do I have to use the myFaves interface?

The reason this matters is two fold. 1) I use speed dial a lot, and that would mean I now have to navigate the myFaves wheel for those calls. 2)due to my Bluetooth UConnect in my car.... when the car Bluetooth makes an outgoing call, it does so by dialing as if I was dialing a number in the phone. It doesnt look up address book entries, or have the ability to navigate the berry via the car controls.

Any responses would be appreciated. Thank you.

you do not have to use the interface. I also have myfaves and Use Speed Dial Often. I also used to have a non myfaves capable phone and dialed as normal. As long as you have your myfaves #'s set you can dial them however you want.

It doesn't matter where the call is initiated from myFaves is a service feature controlled not from the device itself. The application on your phone simply allows you to edit and personalize your myFaves.

The calls to these numbers will be unlimited unless you change them yourself.

my pearl does it too, i wouldnt worry about it cause my faves is handled by the carrier. I always keep track of my minutes and i dont really call outside my fav5 and weather or not the icon shows up during calls it does not affect my anytime minutes. so no you dont need to use the fav 5 app.

i would notice right away if it affected my minutes
