I just got my Pearl yesterday and i was setting everything up and when i uploaded my custom ringtones to my phone via USB and tried to change myFave 5 ringtones it wouldnt change. it would play the ringtone that i picked when i first added them. I saw the other post on this forum but that was from march so i thought i'd make a new one. I was already on the phone with t-mobile BB support and they couldnt help me and i did a hard reset on the phone and when i set up myFave's again the ringtone i wanted i chose and it played that but i still cant change it to something else. I've gone through and checked the address book settings and everything but still no luck. I'm having a replacement sent out because they say its something wrong with the phone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you go to your profiles. Under your profiles and then to advanced you see use active profile except for and it should have you myfaves. Change it from there. That should do the trick. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

yea i tried all that and it doesnt work. I think i might have just gotten a faulty phone. i will see if i have the same problem when my new one comes. but if any one else has a solution that would be great thanks

that happened to mine too !!! Drove me nuts !!! After a few battery pulls, cursing the gods, doing a rain dance, and selling my soul to the devil it finally worked...

I work for T-Mobile and have a Pearl so i see this all the time. Anytime you take your battery out, your MyFaves will referesh. In addition to that it may mix up your icons and ringtones. Furthermore, I have noticed that everytime i refresh my MyFaves it will mix all of them up. Even though yopur address book entry may be right the myfaves entries will always "trump" the address book. I have learned to live with it at this point. Also, keep in mind that everytime you change someone's custom phone tune you may have to pull the battery in order for the new tone to apply. Hope this was helpful!

mcclafferty4 you are a genious. That worked perfectly. Thank you so much. I was getting frustrated because I just got T-Mobile and this was the only problem I was having and your solution worked. I think that a mod should sticky this post because it seems alot of people have this problem. To reiterate what i did, I changed the tune in MyFaves, the exceptions, and the contact list. Then i used the SoftReset program to reset the phone and it worked. Thanks alot

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~ mcclafferty4, thank you. =) This helped me out, too. I followed what you said: I made sure the numbers in the address book matched up and then did the cold reset and it worked.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~i still have tmo's original os and I gave up on this myfaves headache. Sigh. Forget it. As long as I'm still getting my unlimited for my myfaves contacts. I actually wanted to change my plan because of this.
