My zipper got caught in my brand new North Face backpack. Can someone please help me?

The zipper got stuck, then I tried getting unstuck. All that happened is got more material caught in it, then my ex said sh new how to get material out of zipper; now all the material is caught and crinkled inside the zipper. It is really stuck in there any suggestioins, please.
