Hi. I was the owner of two rats. One was about a year and a half when I got the other one, who was about a month old or so at the time. I got the younger rat, because the older one was becoming sick and further study showed she was lonely. Lo and behold, I get the new rat and she turned out fine.
They played and snuggled together and never had any fights. Well, the older one was approaching about 2 years old, and she was getting really fat via drinking a lot of water (I knew this meant she was probably going to die sometime soon), but what I didn't expect was for the older rat to die and the younger one to eat her head (they are both female).
Right now, I'm wondering if my younger rat is going to be okay? She just ate her older friend's head, and obviously its not for evil reasons. But I don't know if she could have gotten a disease now, or if she will get bitey/aggressive after having eaten meat.
Thanks.
