my Yamaha gp760 wont start can someone please help?

my yamaha gp760 jet ski wont start, it seems to be making a ticking noise or a grinding noise altho i dont think its the starter motor as i can i can jump start it, the most obvious thing seems the battery i know, but it was working the last time i used it, now its not? any help please?
 
jet ski battery's need to be trickle charged constantly in my book, that way when you are ready to hit the water it's charged up fully. Walmart sells one for like 25.00 looks like a mini charger with post clips and permanent hook up. I have them on my boat, motorcycles, jet-bike, and have saved many headaches


a grinding noise? is the engine turning over? If not you might have a corroded or loose connection on the actual starter or the jumper cables not clamped on good.. been there done that..

mesg me if you need help I have been through this many times...
