My xr70r honda dirtbike wont shift from neutral to first and it gets stuck in neutral

whats wrong? automatic
it wont shift only shifts sometimes and it gets stuck in neutral and then i have a hard time shifting back to neutral once i get it out of neutral and i don't know whats wrong with it.
its also a 2003
