My XBOX360 Keeps Freezing

It started with playing Bejewled 2 on the Arcade. Then, I waited 5 minutes and restarted it. I put in Saints Row and started playing. After about 20 minutes of play, it froze again. I turned it off, then turned it back on. It turned on, and just as I was about to clear the cache, it made a terrible noise and froze.
I was scared to turn it back on so I called 1-800-4MY-XBOX. I talked to some indian guy with a really bad accent named "Bobby". He asked me to turn the XBOX360 on after a bunch of other questions. As soon as I turned it on, I get the red lights of death. I tell him this and then we go through another whole conversation and now hes sending me a box to send them my 360.
I bought a warranty when I bought the 360 at EB games. I called the guy and he said I could just bring it in and get a new one.
I just tried turning on the console and now its working but I dont know if I should do anything seeing as how I already got the red lights of death.
So should I try playing again, go to eb games and get a new console, or wait for the box from Microsoft and send it back to them?

cliffs: 360 froze 3 times. on the 4th time I get a weird noise and it freezes. I call MS and he tells me to turn it on, I get the 3 red lights. Hes gonna send me a box to ship it to them. I can just go to gamestop and get a new one. I tried turning it on again and now its working at least on the Dashboard. What should I do?

Take it to EB and get a new one, Microsoft is just going to send you a piece of shit referb.

When did you buy this unit, was it fairly new? I've heard of quite a few newer production machines taking a shit after 2-3 months.

This is the main reason I haven't bought a 360. It doesn't seem it's gotten any better either, units made from August 06 to current day are still doing the same shit.

EB will give you a brand new unit, Microsoft won't, so take it back to EB.

I said it started working so I tried playing Saints Row. Then the screen went black and started kinda flashing green lines. What a mistake. I'm going to EB games.

I hate to say it but this is why i never purchased one. And boy am i glad i waited it out for the PS. It runs so smooth and flawless, hasnt given me a flinch.
My friend just got his 360 over Xmas and already has all kinds of glitches, freezes up randomly, and worst of all it LAGS on XBOX LIVE (hardwired too).
I couldnt help but think to myself "wow, xbox owners PAY to play online for 'superior' servers, and it actually lags"
Ill stick to my free, smooth running (not to mention WIRELESS) service, thank you.

Its really too bad about the 360 cuz its a great bang for the bucks system, but then again, you get what you pay for.

Microsoft claiming a 5% failure rate is laughable, I'd like to know what the real figure is. My guess is 30-40%.

If they ever fixed all the shit wrong with those systems they'd win the HD war hands down given the capability and price.
