My XBOX 360....froze...again = New Elite

so i bought a premium xbox in december of 06. worked fine and all but till recently i could only get 5 mins of gameplay...tech support told me it was because my cache on my hard drive was causing it to freeze....not likely. those idiot ppl.

So they sent a pacakge for me to send back my xbox and a few days later i got a new one. sweet deal right? well not exactly yet. it froze again like within a week. i called them back but this time i expressed to tech support that i wanted to speak with someone in charge so i told him my situation and he apologized for the inconvient and i blabbed on about how this is ruining my xbox 360 live membership cause i havent been able to play for almost 3 weeks now.

so they sent me a package again to pick up my system but this time nothing ever came back. i waited another week and i was actually pissed this time. i called them and expressed my rage to tech support and guess what? they ensured me that this isnt a common mistake and that this type of thing never happens, and to ensure that i am a satisified customer they are sending me a BRAND NEW XBOX 360 CONSOLE with all the goodies. so now im getting that sometime when it comes out. but i still have my HD and cables and what not from the first xbox 360.

btw how do i post a printscreen. i want to show the email that says i will be recieving an XBOX 360 ELITE
 
You need to take a careful look at how you had your old 360 setup.
One bad box I believe. 2 bad boxes is suspicious. I am not blaming you - on the contrary, how could you really know?

I am just saying that there might be something about where you have it plugged in or how you are storing it that is causing the problem.

Consider three things:
1) airflow - the 360s do have an overheating problem - this includes the power brick

2) the electrical circuit it is on - is it an overloaded circuit? Is it plugged into the same outlet that a zillion other things are plugged into? Idealy you would get this thing on its own circuit. See if you can fanangle a way to locate it on the other side of the room or some such.

3)is the circuit grounded? That 3rd plug, the roundish one - that is the ground. Well is it grounded?

It would suck if you got a 3rd machine - an elite for free - and it went ZAPPPO!!!! on you.
