My Windows Media Player 11 (Vista) will not launch the "device set up wizard"

when new Ver XV6900 is connected? My phone has WMP10. Phone connects well via bluetooth to Windows Media Device center. But Windows Media Player on the desktop has never launched the device set up wizard as I have read in the phone instruction book. I can't find a way to get it to recognize my phone. I have Windows Mobile 6.1 on my phone. Outlook syncing works fine.
